Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Hamilton
Printed on colorful, sturdy cardboard with a spiral binding, this book presents basic mathematical concepts using money as the learning tool. The book includes a large number of interesting facts about United States currency, has several interactive pages, and includes a transparent, plastic pouch filled with play coins and dollar bills. The young reader is directed throughout the book to use the money in various combinations that always add up to one dollar. The illustrations serve to guide the young reader in learning about money and its use. I would recommend that the book not be used in the presence of very young siblings who are of an age where they place small objects in their mouths. The loose coins might prove to be too big a temptation.
