Overview

A smoking-hot prequel to Jennifer Bernard's fabulous Bachelor Firemen series. If you love the novels of Rachel Gibson and Bella Andre, then this is for you!

Kirk, a.k.a. Thor, one of San Gabriel's infamous Bachelor Firemen, certainly lives up to his nickname. He's tall and handsome, with a chiseled body worthy of any Viking god. But he'd give it all up for one glance from her.

Sweet, shy Maribel has no idea that Kirk's been pining for her. There's nothing he'd like better than to sweep her off her feet and show her just how exquisite their love could be. But Kirk has a secret, and he won't let anyone get close, least of all the sexiest woman he's ever met.

Can a feisty little dog and an even feistier little boy help these star-crossed lovers find the passion they both so richly deserve?

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Kirk, aka “Thor” for his handsome, Nordic looks, is one of the bachelor firemen of San Gabriel who regularly breakfast at the diner where Maribel waitresses. Amusingly described as “hand grenades of testosterone rolling in the door,” the guys are all charming, but Maribel is attracted to Kirk, who can barely speak in her presence. He and her son, Pete, hit it off when they take care of a stray dog and bond over their dislike of Maribel’s obnoxious fiancé of six years. The plot moves quickly with our confused heroine juggling a bad case of the hots for Thor, the breakdown of her engagement, and her son’s disappearance and consequent endangerment.

Verdict With appealing firemen heroes, this novella from Bernard’s series (The Fireman Who Loved Me) is sweet, sexy, and funny.—B. Meet the Author

Jennifer Bernard is a graduate of Harvard and a former news promo producer. The child of academics, she confounded her family by preferring romance novels to . . . well, any other books. She left big city life for true love in Alaska, where she now lives with her husband and stepdaughters. She's no stranger to book success, as she also writes erotic novels under a naughty secret name not to be mentioned at family gatherings.
