Overview

You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again.

The first book was good and this one is even better. As the second in the series, it keeps going strong and adds some dimensions to the story that I definitely didn't see coming. Several years after the events in Halfway to the Grave, half-vampire Catherine "Cat" Crawford is still trying to adjust to her life without her all-vampire lover, Bones. The years training her team of special agents to be top notch vampire killers have kept her busy, but it hasn't been enough. And suddenly Cat is beset by constant attempts on her life. This time, they're coming from both sides: the living and the undead. And the only way to stay alive long enough to find out who's behind the attempts is to rely on Bones. The only real question is will she be able to walk away again? One Foot in the Grave does a good job of developing the characters from the first book. The emotions are harder hitting, the humor is even better, and some interesting revelations about Cat's heritage are discovered. A definite must read for fans of the first book.

One Foot In The Grave is a realistic setting, fast action, believable romance, cool vampires, fascinating characters, a grand plot and lots of gore. A thriller, mixed with a vampire novel mixed with an adult love story. The background information on the characters is so perfectly slipped into the flow of the story that there was no slow down of the action. It was never bland, boring and there was never a cliché. That I noticed. A book so great that I would compare it to the works of Anne Rice, K S Michaels, and Kim Harrison. Even a sexy cover.
It was so good it took me a few days after finishing it to realize that it was Book 2 in the series. It was that good. I've already grabbed the first book and can't wait to read it.
If you plan to buy one vampire novel anytime in the next year, this should be it. Get it. Used, new, from the library, whatever. Just GET it.

Oh my! Who would have know that sleeping with a vampire would be that good. Cat and Bones certainly made up for the ime they had to spend apart since book one. I liked the fact that Bones came back and with a vengeance! This couple is ceratinly made for each other, they keep learning more about each other and their relationship moving to higher levels.

Kat and Bones are two of the best characters i have ever read. This author writes a very satisfying book with everything you could possibly be looking for in a story. P.s. Chapter 32 is by far one of my favorite chapters of any book. Well done:)

I gave the first book in the series three stars, and wasn't sure if I would continue reading. I didn't want to give up so easily, so I bought books two and three. To sum it up, the Night Huntress Series is a mindless (which is not always bad) and fun story to read. It doesn't require a lot of thinking and guessing as to what will happen next. The plot is often times repetitive as far as vampire hunting and love scenes go. The characters lack a certain depth that usually draws me into a book, but they all work well together. From the beginning, I think I was expecting something completely different from this series; maybe that's why I was a bit critical.

I loved this installment to the series. It was so exciting to see how many truths finally came to the surface. Cat's life is seriously rocked, and I couldn't stop reading to find out what was going to happen. I absolutely love that Bones is back, and I loved getting to know Cat's team. Luckily, there wasn't another killer cliffhanger in this one, but I still can't wait to find out what is going to happen next in book three. If you haven't picked this series up yet, do it already.

One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is the second book in the Night Huntress series. I’ve been sick the last few days, I do sick the first few days really well, heroic even, but by day four I’ve given up all hope and toss in the towel proclaiming I have hamster flu. I’ve told you before, I would not survive a zombie Apocalypse. Being sick means I’ve had plenty of time to read since I have slacked on all household and blogging duties opting instead to cuddle in my chair with my Husband’s blanket. It’s camo, but so far has been unable to conceal me from the needy 4 year old, who I’m quite sure I caught this hamster flu from. Anyway, back to the task at hand, reviewing One Foot in the Grave. Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars – Kept telling myself “just one more chapter.” I started this book pretty much right after finishing book one, you can read my review for it here. While a portion of this had to with the fact that I’m sick and using that as a reason to read it probably would have happened even if I wasn’t. I’m really enjoying this series and couldn’t wait to see what would become of Bones and Cat. For every measure that my love for Cat grows my hatred for her Mother is also expounded. I really just want someone to stake her already. It would make us all happier. But I do love Cat, while I don’t always agree with her choices she is such a strong heroine that I can’t fault her. I love kick ass heroines and she definitely fits the bill. Of course I also love Bones as well. He’s so sure of himself and their relationship, hearing him talk and be reassuring just melts me. He’s willing to battle an obstacle and make sure Cat is as well. Make sure and pay attention in the future because Bones will definitely be a book boyfriend. So much happens in this book, between our characters and with action. I mean really, there was so much action I didn’t have time to take many notes. I’m normally one for the more action the better, but honestly I’m starting to wish we would have had more time with Bones being his sweet self toward Cat. That’s what I fell in love with and I wanted more of those times in this book. Don’t get me wrong there is sex in this book and it’s good, but most of the scenes are of a more fade to black or just light in the details. But it was even more than that, I just wanted to see more mushy bones. I wanted him to woo me, he does, but I wanted more. I can’t wait for future books when we get to see everyone working together as a team and what the author has in store for our couple. I feel like everyone is finally accepting themselves and each other, including Cat. I loved One Foot in the Grave and will definitely continue to read this series.

The protagonisr Cat was just so butch to me. She just did not feel at all femine and not very believable in a romantic interaction. Bones intrigued me but i couldnt figure out what he saw in her. So so story line. I paid for it so i finished it basically. Mehhh...

just as good as the first i really love the way cat and bones relationship is handled by the athour she understands that a vampire human relationship is difficult . i really like the addition of denise though i dont care much for randy hes just kinda dull compared to bones and spade . ian how doe one describe ian lets see a drunk who flirts with anything the moves who tells is like it is and is incredibly loyal to those in his line , cant wait to see if he devlops into hero meterial .

I liked the first book in this series but this one is kinda boring. I have yet to finish it because I simply lost interest in the story.
