Overview

A disappointed Duke gets a lesson in love in this classic Signet Regency Romance from Carla Kelly.

AVAILBLE DIGITALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME

Benedict Nesbitt, the Seventh Duke of Knaresborough, prepares himself to a life of solitude when the woman he loves marries another man. Resigned to looking after his niece and working on his stiff upper lip, he heads back home…

On the way, he agrees to give a ride to a poor Spanish woman and her child. But there is more to the self assured Liria Valencia than meets the eye. She could even be Benedict’s second chance at love—if they can only see past their differences. And that will require delving into a complicated and painful past…

Don’t miss Carla Kelly’s other classic Signet Regency romances The Lady’s Companion and The Wedding Journey.

    Very Real.......................................................

    Very Real.......................................................
Loved the H and H.   Both victims of war but from a very different perspective.  Good secondary characters.   Interesting story line.  This is the second Carla Kelly book I've read and I will certainly buy her again.  However I have the same complaint in this book that I had in the first.  She ends her story too abruptly.  It's like falling off a cliff.   If the first story I read--The Admiral's Penniless Bride --needed an epilogue then believe me this one screams for one.  Not that I think every story needs an epilogue but these end so fast your left asking the question  ----So what happened?---.

    Good read

I must admit I was not liking Nez, or his sister much in the begining of this book. They seemed like bickering rich snobs.
As the story goes on it, turns into a wonderful love story, and Nez, is a compassionate kind, caring gentleman.

    Loved the sequel! (LVR)

Read this book after Libby's London Merchant. Carla Kelly continues to weave a regency romance with intricately developed characters and a historically accurate storyline. I love her efforts because I am a huge fan of Georgette Heyer (and Jane Austen, of course!).

    Always on the read.

I can always count on a Carla Kelly book to keep my interest peaked. Her Signet Regency and CoveFort books are the greatest. I can always count on not wanting to put the book down. And One Good Turn did it again. I really enjoyed the previous book with Libby and Dr. Cook and Nez. I look forward to each book that Carla Kelly puts together. Thank you Ms Kelly for making my day better with your books.
