Wonderful, couldn't take my eyes off it!

Lurlene McDaniel, the author of this book, is a wonderful writer. In the book "Mother, Help Me Live", Sarah McGreggor is the main character. She is a15 year old girl who's leukemia relapses after a five years of remission. When she learns that her only hope of surviving depends on a bone marrow donor, she thinks it will be simple. Her doctors told her that she would probably be a match with one of her two siblings. Come to find out Sarah was adopted as a baby, so she was not a blood relative of any of her family. One day after waking from a deep sleep Sarah finds an envelope on her bedside table. Inside the envelope is a check made out to Sarah for a $100,000! The latter is signed from JWC. Sarah uses the money to track down her birth mother, Janelle Warren. When Sarah gets into contact with Janelle she soon finds out she has no blood related siblings. She also finds out that her birth mother can not give her bone marrow, because she underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer years earlier. When Sarah's adoptive family sister finds out that there is no one in Sarah's birth family to supply her with bone marrow she does something about it. She gets on national television and tells everyone to go to the donor bank to see if they are a match for her sister. It ends with Sarah falling asleep while sitting with her family while waiting for a bone marrow match. I recommend this book to anyone who likes dramatic stories based on real circumstances.

    I love this book!

I love all three of these books contained in one! But, I must say he BEST is 'Sixteen and Dying' the last story in this book. A must read for any romance fanatic. Twists and turns the whole way through the book. The characters seem so real, don't you wish they were? (Oh..especially Morgan Lancaster.)

    Excellent Books!!!

I think it is great how she writes about teens with disabilities. It teaches us that the world isn't perfect. It also shows the kindness of strangers. Anne's story really touched me. The very thing that once saved her was making her die. The other stories were great also.

    Okay, but not great

I gave it three stars because 'Let him Live' was such a good story. I didn't care too much for the other two. I thought the girl in 'Mother help me live' was a brat and the last story...the author didn't really let me have emotions for the characters.

    I LOVE THESE BOOKS!

I really don't like to read at all, but I had to do a book report for language and my friend recomended that I get a book by Lurlene McDaniel. I figured I'd hate it like I do every book, but I really enjoyed reading 'One Last Wish'! So when I was finished w/that book I got another book by Lurlene McDaniel. I just love her books and she is the only auther I ever read books from now. If you don't like reading any books this book can turn your opinion around.

Lurlene McDaniels books are the BOMB!

The first book I read by her was 6 monts to live. It inspeired me so much because I too was fighting off leukemia. The book kept me company knowing that I was reading about a gurl the same age as me going through the same issues as me. I recongmend ALL AGES to read her books. They really inspire u. By the way I have been on remission for 3 1/2 years b-cuz I didn't give up !

    The Best Books!!

I love the way Lurene McDaniel displays the realistic feelings of those in the book. It makes me feel as if i am IN THE BOOK! It makes you stop and think how good you have it...when other children are in the hospital and struggling to survive! These books make you wanna go out and help someone...someone you've never met! Once you read one you'll be hooked!
