Overview

Imagine a united consciousness, an awareness of which all of our minds are a part . . . and a potential way out of the division, greed, and destruction that threaten to engulf our world.

In the 20th century, we were introduced to several subdivisions of the mind: the conscious, unconscious, subconscious, preconscious, and so on. But what we didn’t know was that there was another level of consciousness, an all-encompassing, infinite dimension of shared intelligence: the One Mind. This universal consciousness connects all of us through space and time. Even now, as you read these words, you are participating in the One Mind.

Emerging studies have shown that the One Mind isn’t just an idea; it’s a reality. In this book, Larry Dossey shares compelling research that supports the One Mind concept. These cases include experiences of:

  • Shared thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with a distant individual
  • Communication between humans and sentient nonhumans, such as pets
  • Large groups of animals—flocks, schools, herds—behaving in highly coordinated ways
  • Acquisition of previously unknown knowledge from a person who has died
  • Hidden or lost objects found through mental means alone
  • Direct contact with a transcendent domain through near-death experiences

Through engaging stories, fascinating case studies, and brilliant insights from great thinkers throughout history, One Mind explores the outer reaches of human consciousness. In it, you will discover a new way to interpret the great mysteries of our experience and learn how to develop the empathy necessary to engender more love, peace, and collective awareness. The result is a rich new understanding of what it means to be human and a renewed hope that we can successfully confront the challenges we face at this crossroads in human history.

With One Mind, Dossey shows that we are not alone, that we are all one.

    Exploring Holistic Consciousness

Dr. Larry Dossey's new book, ONE MIND, presents us with a concept of unified consciousness on a level beyond anything we can comfortably label, categorize, or fully define. Dossey brilliantly tackles such a big topic from a number of different perspectives, so much like the parable of the blind men and the elephant, readers can glean fresh insights as to the entirety of ONE MIND a little at a time.

I appreciate inclusion in the Introduction to ONE MIND of a short list of what we'd expect to witness if such a thing as ONE MIND exists. Dossey explains we would expect people could share thoughts and feelings at a distance with other people and with pets, and that some people could demonstrate detailed knowledge known by someone who has died. We'd expect to witness coordinated movements of animals, people finding lost objects, and people experiencing a sense of direct contact with a transcendent domain. As it turns out, all these things actually do happen, as Dossey further describes in an abundance of fascinating case histories and real life examples.

What I love best about ONE MIND is the sense of joyful peace I feel in my mind and heart while reading it, as a sense of being at one with ONE MIND washes over me. This book is one best savored as one would enjoy a fine gourmet meal, but rather than delighting in visual presentation, fragrance, texture, taste and sound--relishing each new facet of oneness described.

I love all of Dr. Dossey's books, and this one is no exception, even though it differs from many of his previous works by virtue of tackling a subject that cannot be concretely contained. There is a quintessential mystery in the very topic of ONE MIND that defies precise definition or containment within any human labels. ONE MIND will be treasured by those who embrace holistic experience, and who have a sense of reverence for what may ever be just beyond human comprehension to fully grasp. Readers possessing reverence for nature's wonders will best appreciate the call to awakening ONE MIND represents.

    Highly recommended!

    One Mind

The content of One Mind is excellent which I've grown to expect from the author, Larry Dossey. Unfortunately the E- Book format is terrible. It looks like an after-thought rather than an intention. I fault the Publisher , not the author.
