One More Mission\Warrior Returns to Vietnam

by Oliver L. North

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
In 1968, North was a platoon leader engaged in combat near Vietnam's demilitarized zone. In the spring of 1993, he went on a humanitarian mission to Vietnam. One More Mission contains his recollections of both stays in Vietnam as well as his reflections on how the war was conducted, the wounds it left, and how these wounds can be healed. North's deep Christian faith provides the framework for his views and is prominent throughout the reading in his calls for humanitarian aid for Vietnam. In this reading his own work, North is articulate, and the depth of feeling he has for his former comrades-in-arms is apparent, especially when he recalls combat. North also tells of his life since leaving the Corps, and it is in these places that the narrative seems to rove a bit. However, his comments, which many may not expect to hear from a Marine, are from one who has been there. Recommended for public and military libraries.-- Michael T.
