Photo history of September 11 2001 you will never forget

I bought this book and was so touched by the photos I could only view it a few pages at a time. It documents in hours and minutes what took place on September 11 2001 in pictures. In one picture on this date at 5:45 AM a security camera captures a picture of Mohamed Atta passing through security in Portland Maine preparing to board a flight to take him and another terrorist, Abdulaziz Alomari to Boston. The inner cover of the book has several small photos of people affected that day some missing some dead. Loved ones pasted pictures on letter sized paper with messages 'Missing' and listed contact information. This book has an extraordinary affect in the excellent photos,images of things you would rather forget or heard about back then. One photo is of people falling out of one of the towers. I heard about this but now I saw one of the pictures, sad, so sad. There are pictures of firefighters, search dogs, doctors and nurses, families and volunteers who passed through this tragedy. This book documents sadness, smoke, debris, destruction, tragedy, heroism, kindness and miracles. It has photos of strangers assisting them those who need help, people that lost loved ones and so much more. September 11 2001 changed America's heart. You must buy this book, you must see the photos. You must NEVER forget that there are evil people in the world. You must NEVER forget all those that died that day in the three airplanes and in the targeted buildings or the soldiers that are fighting today against this evil. You must NEVER forget the lives that were changed for the loved one left behind, fatherless children, motherless children, widows, widowers, parents without children, missing friends and family members. Evil is not just a word it is a spirit of destruction. We must NEVER forget. Finally you see photos of people raising their American flags proudly, prayer vigils with candles, kids saying the Pledge of Allegiance all pictures of a God fearing people who rise above the evil and destruction. September ll 2001 made us see we are really ONE Nation and ONE people, Americans and proud of it.

Beautiful Book

This is a heart wrenching piece of work by a truly great American. The color plates tatoo themselves into your soul. Another reviewer mentioned SB1 or God as an equil to this. Nice try Mr. Maddox.

EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHY AND WRITING CAPTURES THE EVENTS OF THAT HORRIFIC DAY AND THE RESULTING HUMAN RESPONSES OF DESPAIR, DISBELIEF, UNITY AND RESOLVE. AS STATED IN THE TITLE, AMERICA REMEMBERS, THIS BOOK DOES, AS IT SHOULD, NOT LET THE BRUTALITY OF SEPTEMBER 11TH FADE INTO OBSCURITY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL.

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL ON 9/11/01

This book really showed me the whole thing about 9/11/01 and after that. I felt I learned a lot about this subject without getting too hard and so on.

A must have

I bought this book 3 days ago, and so far, I've already have read the whole book. It has great info on the events, but also alot of patriotism twords the victims

This book is very touching and provides lots of information. (in one of the pictures you can clearly se a person jumping out of a window)

The staff has done their homeowrk in putting this book together. You'll see pictures, and read stories that will bring tears to your eyes, and bring pride into your hearts. It's a MUST HAVE!!!

One Nation is right

This is the best account of the worst day in America's homeland history. The Book not only brings us pictures of what befell us, but the Patriots who toiled so hard to save. This is a definite buy.

An excellent documentary!

I purchased this book after a friend showed me hers, and I was truly very impressed. 'One Nation' is really well put together and does a very good job at depicting the tragic events of September 11th. This is a great piece of history to have in your family collection of books.

A Must See Book for all ...

I have had this book for 4 days now and have not put it down yet. I live in the city and work on West 35th Street near the Javitz Center, and watched as our Country was attacked by these 'animals' who choose death over life. We have all lost someone or something during this tragic time in history. This book was an excellent way for me to see what we all went through on Sep 11th, 2001. I never thought I would see anything like that, and hope to never again. Thank you Life, for producing such a powerful book to help heal and understand our world today...

Moving and Impressive

It is not appropriate to say it is an enjoyable book to read, for it is not. The events revealed here defy description and are so horrific they will stay with you forever. However, the book is a compelling one to read. For those who do not live near New York, it puts the reader in touch with the reality of the events. Life Magazine has produced a moving and impressive account, both in words and photographs, of what will become an unforgettable time in history. 'One Nation' shows through the eyes of endless rescue workers, from all walks of life, that the world with all its tragedy, unpredictability and despair is also still a world filled with tremendous compassion and love for one's fellow man.

wonderful

This book is wonderfully written and has awesome photographs. We, as society, didn't get to see all of the tragedy first hand, but this book helps us to understand. As we get to see the outcome of the horrendous events unfold in pictures, we also get to feel the sense of helplessness. I think America as a whole was deeply affected and this book helps us deal with the pain.

Great book!

I got this book for my birthday in hope that I could learn more about what happened that day, I got more than I expected. This is an amazing book.

Great book with one mistake!

This book is beautiful! It has some great pictures that I hadn't seen anywhere, and I own every WTC book I can find. There is one flaw however, where a caption describes in detail,a picture as a plane hitting the North Tower at 8:48am when CLEARLY it is a pic of the Second plane and Tower 2. How do you miss this one? Especially when there wern't any photos from this angle on the first plane! Other than that, it is a must see!

Amazing Book

The Book is a great testament to every person that passed on Sept.11, and to all those people who worked so hard to help others and those who continue to help. The pictures are moving and emotional, and it provides chilling pictures of the events that occured on Sept.11. This is a great tribute to our nation.
