Meet the Author

Bestselling author Kirkus MacGowan wrote his first book at age eight about traveling to Mars to find the cure for cancer. He put his writing dreams on hold for twenty-five years and focused his energies on playing baseball. He moved on when he found playing softball with his friends more enjoyable.

Since then, he graduated with a B.S. in Psychology, married a woman too good to be true, and moved back to his hometown. He gave up an amazing career waiting tables and now stays at home with his two crazy children. He spends his time writing thrillers and fantasy, playing softball with friends, enjoying the occasional computer game, and wrestling with his kids.

I really liked this book. Very well written with the details on how you can end up going to jail. And how it is in the night at jail. Good job. J..... :)

Reminded me of my time in jail.

This short story was exactly what the title said- an essay about the author's night in the pokey. The description was well done; I was there with him in the cell. He also did a good job of showing us the other characters he encounters, giving them unique personalities while keeping them anonymous as they would be in that situation. The humor kept the story from being too heavy. Good job. I would recommend. Although I suspect there might have been more to how he ended up in the klink than he shared with us...

For a very short story with what sounds like a teen-ager put in jail!
