The most precious gifts in life are worth risking your heart for...

Dr. Ben Richardson is trying to make yet another new start, this time in the emergency department at a Melbourne hospital. It's been nearly four years since he lost his wife and unborn child-and he still hasn't let go. So it comes as quite a surprise to him when his eye is drawn to a beautiful pregnant woman on the beach.

When Ben realizes Celeste is a nurse at the hospital, he wants to keep his distance. She reminds him too much of all he's lost. But Celeste is clearly facing this challenging pregnancy alone, and Ben can't help coming to her rescue. Being with her to deliver her premature baby girl finally makes him realize there's a future for him right here after all-if he's prepared to risk enough to claim it....

Meet the Author

Carol Marinelli was born in England to Scottish parents, then emigrated to Australia, where there are loads of Scottish and English people who did exactly the same, so she's very at home there.

She lives in the outer suburbs of Melbourne--pretty much in her car, driving her three children to their various commitments.

Carol first tried to write for Harlequin Mills & Boon while doing her nursing training in London. It was merrily rejected and she was devastated. Rejection became a regular friend over the next few years and she amassed quite a collection. Still, as the years moved on the rejections became more detailed and instead of weeping over them and scorning them, she finally read them. Properly.

In 2000 her first romance was accepted for the Medical Romance line and she lived happily ever after. Well, that's what she thought would happen but actually, no, it was then that the hard work really began!

Once published she discovered the Romance Writers of Australia--it would, she now knows, have been far easier on this journey to have discovered them earlier. Attending her first conference she realized that she wasn't the only person who lived with a constant cinema happening in her head--in fact they were all THE SAME! Different but the same and many wonderful friendships were made.

Carol now writes for both the Medical Romance and Presents lines and loves them both.

One of her goals is to attend the Romance Writers of America conference with a few Romance Writers of Australia, which is a very nice goal to have.

This was a very good read and a free book to booth. Although it was only 128 pages. It was not a short read plus the book was well written. Nothing is mising there is even an epilogue at the end. I certainly enjoyed this book.

I really liked the story line being at the emergency room with doctors and nurses. Then their home life. It would have been an excellent read without the sex being detailed. I realize it's a harlequin, but a cleaned up version would get a higher rating.

I was very disappointed in this book. The synopsis indicated a good read, but it was more about sensuality than it was about compassion or neighborly kindness and helpfulness. It got more offensive as I turned the pages and I finally stopped reading it because it was worse than a waste of time!

This book was great. In addition to it being free, it had a great plot, and I couldn't put it down. I would recommend it to anyone ninth grade and older. So heartwarming and sweet!

I loved reading through it. I expected it to be a little fast paced since it's only 128 pages, but it was just right.

This book started out alright, but it got very inappropriate. I stopped reading it and deleted it off my nook when i reached a sex scene. I would not recommend this book to anyone under 16, and honestly even then it is inappropriate.
