Overview

Macie never questioned her belief in angels. As a good Catholic girl, she's read the Bible stories, she wears the guardian angel pin her grandma sends her at Christmas, and she sees them on stained glass and statues pretty much everywhere she turns. So why is she so shocked when the stunning new guy at school asks her if she truly believes?

Elijah Strazar is the exact opposite of angelic. Mohawked, pierced, tattooed, and too sexy to handle, Macie takes one look at Elijah and decides that he's trouble she needs to stay far away from. But his rebellious outer appearance hides a startling truth; Elijah is a Nephilim, half man, half angel. And he's waited years and traveled miles to find Macie.

Suddenly Macie finds herself caught in the middle of a violent angel war on Earth, and it's up to her to save Elijah from a brutal group of vengeful Grigori angels. But is she strong enough to accept her fate? And will her best efforts be enough to save the half man, half angel she's falling in love with?

Meet the Author

My favorite show growing up was 'The Jim Henson Hour,' and I still have a major soft spot for anything Henson. Henson fans are my people.

My favorite foods are super sweet or super salty. Preferably in combination. You will have my heart if you give me chocolates and anything coated in salt (pretzels, chips...I'm not picky).

When I was a kid and dreamed about what I wanted to be with I grew up, it alternated; a fairy, a mermaid, a witch, an angel (the kind that smite!), a ghost...since I never grew up to be any of those things, I decided to write about them.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I love writing them ;)!

This book is sexy and I loved it! I think the angel story was really well done and interesting, and the scenes between Macie and Elijah were HOT! Loved it, and hope there's another soon!

Cool story. Really liked that the girl wasn't some damsel in distress. She actually learns a lot about herself and helps save the day. I like the training they had to do and the fact that there were working together the whole time. Very sexy, great characters. This was a good one.

Overall, I felt this was a good read. I really enjoyed the religious concept of it, and i felt it had a strong plot. The only issue I had was the time span of the events. The whole story is written around a two or three week period, so i felt it was a bit rediculous for Macie and Elijah's relationship to take the plunge that it did over such a short time period. Still an enjoyable read though. I also recomend it for ages 16+ cuz of the sexual content.

I give it about 3.5 stars. It was an interesting concept, but just didn't pull through for me. It starts off with Macie who this good Catholic girl that meets this guy that looks the complete opposite. Elijah is totally hunky with facial piercings and tattoos. They instantly has this connection. Push comes to shove and Elijah admits that he really is a Nephilim and she's supposed to help protect him against the Neo-Grigori. Elijah I loved, he's arrogant but has a sweet side. He's totally swoon worthy. Macie on the other hand, I couldn't stand. I could just not like her. Her bi-polar emotions just drove me crazy. One minute she loves him but yet tells him she needs space and to stay from him. I just couldn't understand her. I would possibly read the next book (if there is one) just to read more on Elijah.

I liked the story, but the grammatical errors were too significant, and words were missing. The author should consider a new editor/proof reader, this is the main reason for two stars. A spell check or grammar check should have been used. As far as the story, I was a bit confused in the end about true love and Mace wanting to consider seeking/dating if she came across someone else?

Wowzers!! Elijah is HOT!! LOVE how blunt he his regarding his feelings and his persistence is an admirable trait. And although Macie's rapid mood swings drove me batty, i think her reactions were legit for a high school student. Nice quick read with a slight drool-factor!!

I'm a huge romance fan, and this book delivered. I love para, but I like it to have a good amount of interaction and emotion along with action. I thought this book had a really good balance of both. Macie meets Elijah just before winter break at her Catholic School (ps former Catholic school student, so I totally loved this part!). He's kind of wild and edgy, but he keeps asking if she believes in angels. It winds up that Elijah is a certain kind of angel called Nephillim, who's half a man, half and angel. I really liked the background ideas on the angels and the explanation for why the Nephillim angels were hunted and hated by the Neo-Grigori. Macie and Elijah have to figure out how to keep the Neo-Grigori from hunting Elijah, and there are some twists and surprises. I loved Macie's sister. They had a really tight bond, and I think her sister might be in the next book. Or at least that would make a lot of sense. I hope that even if it's about Lucia, Macie and Elijah are still in the book, because I love their relationship, but I feel like it just got started in this book and there's so much further it could go! Definitely a must read, and I hope there's more in this series, because I love the characters!

I think this book must have had a cover change, because I'm always looking for a great para, and I never saw this one before, but apparently it's been out for a while. LOVED IT!! Loved the family dynamics, loved the backstory about the different kinds of angels, loved the romance. It was a really good balance of romance and paranormal myth. I definitely recommend this book.
