Toddlers need to learn to count to two, or even three, and then later add more numbers. So in this respect, this is a good book to count to two. The book is a board book, but outside edges of the book have foam around them (nice and soft, but more difficult to keep clean in a child care setting). The book is a good size and has mostly soft, rounded edges. I like that the babies' faces are multicultural. There are no words on the pages, just illustrations and numbers. On p. 1, there is a baby holding one red spoon, with the number "1" on the spoon. Then you turn the page, and the same baby is holding 2 spoons. I would have preferred if these two pictures were on the same spread, but it can also be fun to make it a "surprise" to turn the page and find that there are two of something. Aside from spoons, the babies hold plates, a toy duck, and a rattle. The book's last inside page is a page of dots with 1s and 2s in them. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
