Overview

Beautifully packaged with evocative artwork and design, Oneness with All Life highlights the most inspiring and beautiful insights of A New Earth.

In A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle describes how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. The purpose of this book is to bring about a shift in consciousness, or in his words, an awakening. An essential part of this awakening is the recognition of the ego, and our attachment to things, the past, and enemies. In this new edition, Eckhart Tolle has picked the essential phrases and paragraphs—the gems of the book—that he feels are most important. These words are displayed in a lavish design that will surely make this edition the most sought-after book for the holidays.

Meet the Author

ECKHART TOLLE is a contemporary spiritual teacher who travels extensively, taking his message of the way out of suffering and into peace throughout the world. He spent ten weeks with Oprah Winfrey teaching the book chapter-by-chapter through webinars on Oprah.com. Millions of people watched in what was called "the world's largest classroom."

Biography

Eckhart Tolle was born in Germany in 1948. He spent his teenage years living with his father in Spain, then moved in his early 20s to England where he attended the Universities of London and Cambridge. Following a period of intense personal crisis, he underwent a profound spiritual awakening at the age of 29. He embarked on a long, transformative inner journey that effectively dissolved his old identity and changed the course of his life. Today he is recognized as a great spiritual counselor and an author of inspirational self-help guides. He remains unaffiliated with any organized religion or specific philosophical tradition.

In his first book, The Power of Now (1999), Tolle stressed the importance of living, fully present, in the moment. His powerful message of active self-awareness resonated with millions of readers -- including kingmaker Oprah Winfrey -- and launched a range of related literature and teaching materials. In 2008, Winfrey selected another Tolle title, A New Earth, for her influential Book Club, joining the author for an online workshop. A sought-after public speaker, Tolle travels extensively, taking his teachings throughout the world.

    Inspirational Winner

The first thing I noticed about Eckhart Tolle's Oneness with All Life: Inspirational Selections from a New Earth, is that it is a beautifully bound hard cover book (ribbon bookmark included,)with an old-time feel. The inside is beautifully laid out with flower illustrations. It actually conveys a feeling of peacefulness to hold the book.<BR/><BR/>"Your inner purpose is to awaken," says Tolle. This is the essence of the book, and what my own spiritual teacher tries to instill in her students. Each chapter works on this lofty spiritual plane.<BR/><BR/>Tolle recommends that you read A New Earth before Oneness with all Life, as this book is a distilled version of the first and contains fairly advanced spiritual lessons. He suggests reading a random section or single chapter at a time. The point is to read, reflect, and allow the messages to resonate within your soul.<BR/><BR/>"The informational content of this book is of relatively little importance," he writes. "You read it not so much to learn something new, but to go deeper, become more present, awaken out of the stream of incessant and compulsive thinking."<BR/><BR/>This sums up the book for me: "If you come across passages in this book that you feel are powerful, I want you to realize that what you are feeling is your own spiritual power. That is to say you are in your essence."<BR/><BR/>This book is like having your own spiritual teacher to turn to whenever you need some clarity.<BR/><BR/>A typical passage: "How to be at peace now. By making peace with the present moment."<BR/><BR/>Highly recommended.<BR/><BR/>By the author of the award winning book, HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT: BEAUTIFY, DETOXIFY & ENERGIZE YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOME & YOUR PLANET.

    A Book to Cherish

I received Oneness with All Life yesterday and was struck by its beauty and amazing detail. I had to smile when I thought of my highlighted, underlined, dog-eared editions of The Power of Now and A New Earth. This is a book to cherish, not highlight!<BR/><BR/>As an avid reader and listener of Eckart Tolle, I highly recommend this book for people who have read A New Earth and The Power of Now, and have progressed beyond the beginning awakened stage for the fullest benefit. Daily reading from Oneness of All Life or Stillness Speaks assists me as I strive for harmony with the Now instead of living bound up in the thoughts of my ego.<BR/><BR/> On my life's journey to Awareness, I've found that when challenges pop up, I gravitate to one of Eckhart's books and read a selection, sometimes randomly turning to it. He reminds me that situations are neutral; it is how we react to them that make them "good" or "bad." His writing speaks deep truths that resonate within me, and then I know what to do, acting from a deeper intelligence beyond my thoughts. If this is the way you feel, then this book is for you. If you don't know what I'm talking about, or are still having lots of questions about how living in the Now fits into your life, I suggest you read The Power of Now and A New Earth before reading this book. <BR/><BR/>Eckhart Tolle's books can shift your consciousness and change your life in positive ways for our collective humanity, no matter what your current beliefs are, or your age or gender. His works are timeless.

    Oneness with All Life

This book seems the perfect gift for a dear friend or those who might feel lost in the day to day struggles of life. This information connects with ones inner strengths, inspires, and helps to find life just wainting to be enjoyed moment by moment. It is also a fine introduction for a reader new of Echard Tolle's writings, motivating one to pick up and digest The New Earth, also. These reading, for many, have been life awakening and strenthening.

I think this is a wonderful book!

I'm not much into formal meditation, but reading a selection from this book each morning helps my day get off to a good start. The book itself is very attractive and I think this is a plus.

    Nice Edition

Nothing new in this in this excerpted book from a New Earth. However this volume is nicely produced and has nice selected reading from a New Earth that are great for meditative readings. This should not replace reading a New Earth. The main book goes into vital information that is not touched in this volume. It is a nice gift, but not a vital book in terms of a New Earth. If trying to decide to read a New Earth or this read a New Earth, then purchase this for nice memory reading and reminders.
