Book 2 in the Realm of Honor Series
After saving her love from certain death, Princess Elyne returns to the Otherworld by order of her mother, Queen Maeve. But it’s not the homecoming she expects. The queen is furious she has been meddling with humans and imprisons her, stripping away her magic. The only way Elyne can get her powers back is to perform one selfless act.
When Queen Maeve sends Sir Derron to find the Guardian of the ancient Sword of Light, one of the Four Treasures of the Otherworld, he can’t leave without releasing Elyne. After all, she altered time to save his life in the human world. But freeing the princess comes with a steep price—he must take her with him on this dangerous quest.
Their search becomes much more than a pursuit for the missing Guardian. Dark Elf, Lord Kieran, rises to dominate the Unseelie court. He will stop at nothing to gain control of both the Otherworld and the human realm—he’s murdering Guardians and stealing the sacred Treasures of the Fae. Even with the help of Elves, dragons, and their human friends, the odds are stacked against them.
Can Elyne and Derron stop the destruction of the walls between Fae and Man before they fall?

Fantasy Romance is not my typical romance genre, but I have read a few books and am always surprised at how much I enjoy the stories. I love relationships, specifically romantic relationships, so, I have always gravitated towards contemporary romance. I started branching out and picking up a book here and there that were recommended to me. Michelle Miles was one of those and I loved reading the first book in the Realm of Honor series, One Knight Only (review here). I was so involved in that book and felt as though I was transported to another world. Only For a Knight does the same thing. I was lost in the Otherworld among faeries, elves, dragons and humans. It was very cool. The best part to me is that I still got to read about the love and relationships I cling to in books. In the second book of the series, we follow Derron and Elyne who were once betrothed but that was broken awhile ago. It's sad, really, because they both still love each other so much. They are both hard headed about their feelings for one another, but also a bigger issue is going on because there is an impending war between the Dark Court and the Light Court (all explained very well by Michelle at the beginning). The romance between these two is very appropriate for the story and characters and I love how Michelle sprinkled stolen kisses and touches out among the whole story. Only For a Knight has a lot going on it it. Not only is the war approaching but we watch a Mother/Daughter relationship grow and change between Queen Maeve and Princess Elyne as well as Elven siblings not always seeing eye to eye. Dragons are awakened, sword fights happen, humans come to the Otherworld and deaths are avenged. Michelle does such a great job describing the world so that it is easy to picture, even for those of us that might have difficulty with that! She has a wonderful group of characters and I couldn't help but feel loyalty to them and want to fight with them (but not really since it was a very dangerous situation). I really enjoyed Eldrin, the first elf to profess his loyalty to Derron and Elyne. It was great for Michelle to bring back Maggie, Finn and Drake from One Knight Only. You don't have to read One Knight Only to enjoy this book, but it does help set the history of Derron and Elyne. If you are looking for a story that takes you away from reality that is full of action and romance, I recommend you give Only For a Knight a try.
