Overview

The second installment in the Only series. Must read book one first!!

First loves never die but Grayson Ford comes close. Bleeding out in a war zone, he barters with God. Bring him back alive, and he'll make it right with his girl.

All I want is Emma. I need her, and I fight for her memory. A story. A smile. Anything. But it's all blank.

Emma is not his girl anymore. Time has skipped by and life's been hard. She strips to pay the bills, waitresses to fill the hours between classes and her third job. All while working to be the best mama she can be to the little girl who will never know her daddy. Even though Grayson abandoned her, she mourned his death. Until he calls, and everything she knew was wrong.

It's him. The him that ruined my life. That made my life. That confused my mind to the point that I can't figure out if I've been destroyed or set free. The him that... is... dead.

He's back with one objective--Emma Kingsley--and she never sees it coming.

Only for Her, Only #2, is the second of four novellas. The series will release in its entirety spring 2015.

Love this author's books, but this series should have been one book. I feel taken when books are broken into basically short novellas and sold as full books instead. If it had been tightened and sold stars as one book, I would have given 5 stars.

I enjoyed the first story and since it was free I couldnt complain about 70 page length. However, since i paid for second book in series and still ended up with only 70 pages, i felt ripped off. Should have been all in one book instead of nickle and diming readers to death. End of the series for me.

This is the second novella of a series--you will need to read the first one, Only for Him, first.  This novella takes place 3 years after the first one.  Emma is in college, working multiple jobs, as well as doing an internship.  Grayson was severely injured while in the military.  This story is where they meet again.  Be sure to have a box of tissues close by...there are moments of sadness, but then happiness also.  The third novella of the series, Only for Us, will be released in April 2015.  That is not soon enough!

After reading the first book of the Only series, I just NEEDED to read the second book! There is something about this story which touches me deep down. In the review I wrote for the first book, I mentioned my disappointment about the abrupt end. I am still not 100% content about it, but love the way the story develops in the second book. Emma and Gray are definetly two of my all time favourite characters! I cried more than once....not only because the situations described in the book are deeply touching and emotional....also because there is this special feeling I can't really describe all the time following you. I already started reading the third installment and am exited and afraid the same...just because I want to now how the story goes on and also because I don't want the series to end. Sounds totally logical, right?! ;)

Emma Kingsley had her whole life ahead of her and tons of plans for it. At least until the day that Grayson unexpectedly left town, leaving her alone and pregnant. It's been three long years since Grayson left and Emma is the definition of a single mom. She works two paying jobs, has an internship on the side, goes to college and takes care of her daughter. Emma isn't one for hand outs and has a hard time accepting help from anyone. She's too pissed to fail. She will succeed and she'll show Grayson that she doesn't need him. Then the horrible day came when she learned of his death. She second guessed her anger towards him and mourned the death of her child's father. You'll never guessed how surprised she was when he pops back into her life. Only for Her is the perfect continuation of the first novel in this series, Only for Him. Before I picked this one up, I went and reread the first one because I wanted to make sure that I didn't forget anything and I'm glad that I did. Rereadings usually bring stuff to my attention that I missed the first time and I missed a couple of things ... I just devoured it so quickly. I was hoping that I could slow the heck down for this one so that I didn't miss one single thing. And that was really hard to do. I found Only for Her to pick up right where the previous novel left off and it felt like it was a part of the first book instead of just a continuation. And that's refreshing. I've read too many novels where the second book reads just a tad differently because the author has honed their craft a little more and just becomes ... better. But that didn't happen this time and I think it's because Harber was already a force to be reckoned with in the literary world ... there wasn't really anything she needed to improve upon. I really liked the characters still and I felt like I was able to get to know them just a tad better than I had before. The pull that Harber was able to create between two fictional people is just captivating. It felt like I was reading a true story about one of my friends. Everything was so real and raw and honest, I just really enjoyed it. The story followed a natural progression in the storyline and nothing felt forced or fake. I'm excited to see what the third novella has in store for these characters. Harber knocked this one out of the park. Again. * I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *

Continued story of Grayson and Emma. Please read in order with her ONLY series. This is book # 2, and Grayson is on his way home after an injury where his team was taken out. He heads back to where he came from. Emma gets a call out of the blue and it is hi. The love of her life. Grayson. He has a friend do him a favor and get her phone number. And then he gets the shock of his life. She is not at school. She is in town.  Grayson rushes over to see her at her new home. Then she gets the shock of her life. He is alive and in person! Up close and personal they see the sparks are still flying and the chemistry between them still sizzles. There is so much to say but how do you say after all this time? Their story is bittersweet and yet makes you feel hopeful at the same time. Can he get back into living like a normal civilian? Will he return to the military? What is in the future for them? Can they learn to be a family? All these questions and more are answered as you read the books in this series. Such an amazing couple that against all odds - fights for one another when it comes to it. I am loving the character development and progression. I love it and give it 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP! ***This ARC copy was given free for the purpose of reviewing from the publisher and author. My honest opinion is my own, and does not speak for others.

I stumbled upon Cristin Harber by accident when I read a novella from the Titan series (which is AMAZING btw) So when I saw this series (the first one I received from netgalley) I HAD to be a part of this Blog Tour. I remember reading the first book Only For Him and then tweeting Cristin because I couldnt beleive the way it ended, well let me warn you right now Only For Her does not end any better! I love how this book is sweet, yet it still portrays that no matter how perfect or imperfect everything seems, there is more beneath the surface then you could have ever imagined. I was a little pissed at Grayson at the end of the first book because he made a very bad choice. BUT I fell in love with him in this book, because seriously? How could you not. He made a bad choice, he regretted it, and now he is determined to fix everything. I loved loved LOVED Emma in this book! She has grown SO much as a character (which is understandable considering the circumstances) But I love how she is so tough, she has a real backbone and she is determined to take her situation and make the most of it. LOVE her so much! The writing style of the book is just so effortless, yes its a novella, but there is so much going on it feels like a full length book that you just cant put down. Its a quick read, but it will leave you thinking about it for a long time after! Ahh!! I Will have to go get me some more Titan Series books just to tide me over until I get my grabby little hands on the third installment of this novella series!

4 - "Some things don't change... You saving me is one of them." Stars! Emma and Gray return in Only For Her the second part of the Only series. Things have moved on three years since the first novella. Emma’s life is nothing like she originally was expecting for it to be after Grayson’s unexpected departure. Working multiple jobs, while trying to be a good mother to her daughter, things are pretty tough for her. Gray was supposed to be my best friend. He was supposed to be the one I loved forever. Gray in that time has literally stared down death and come out on the other side. Having lost his entire team, and almost bled out himself, he made himself promises, promises that he now intends to keep. One of those is to make things right with Ems, to try and repair the damage his departure did, and to look to the future, hopefully with her in it. Only For Him was the beginning and the end of the start of this couples relationship. Gray left Emma at the time she needed him the most. Only For Her is definitely the beginning of the next stage of their relationship. A lot has changed for both of them in the intervening years, Gray is now a hardened ex-soldier, looking for a new direction in which to take his life, as well as deal with the things he left behind in his past, some of which he isn’t initially aware of when he returns to Emma. I’ve hurt and abandoned, loved and left everyone there is too leave. Emma has grown hugely over the course of the two novellas, she’s not that young, in love, slightly vulnerable girl anymore, the shape her life has take has molded her into a strong, focused woman. I liked the almost ‘role-reversal’ you see from the two of them as they reunite in every sense. ”Sometimes good things happen out of the blue.” I am starting to fall in love with these characters, and pleased that there is more to come from them. Gray and Emma’s journey is far from done yet, and I am looking forward to seeing how Cristin continues their story in Only For Us, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out! ”I’ll tell you a story.” ARC generously provided by the author, and it was my absolute pleasure to provide the above honest review.

**This is the second novella of a four part series. You MUST read the first one, Only for Him, to understand and appreciate this book.** Emma is a single mom of a beautiful, sweet, loving two year old. She works three jobs, one not paying, and takes college courses to provide for Cally and give her the best life she can. She knows eventually working herself to the bone will pay off and life will be easier. She never imagined she would be raising her daughter by herself, without Grayson. She is grieving over the loss of a man she has loved nearly her entire life, but should she be? Grayson left Emma for the Army, without saying goodbye. He found himself in some horrific battle scenes and some incredible emotional scars and history with his team. Can he overcome his battle scars, mentally and physically? Is he strong enough to be the man that Emma needs? Is he strong enough to believe that he will be the Dad that Cally needs and deserves after the emotional trauma he received as a child? I LOVED this book. The intense detail that Cristin used when describing every single scene in this book kept me turning page after page. This book drug out some serious emotions from me from the beginning of the book to the end, when Emma and Grayson get a surprise of a lifetime! My heart broke for Grayson for his childhood, his life in the Army and the struggles he deals with, and for Emma having to mourn the man she has loved nearly her entire life. Cristin ties some of her Titan series boys into this series also, which always opens the door for more excitement! This is a novella and it is short, yes. However, Cristin really packed a super punch in every single page of this book. It left me feeling raw a few times and left me with a great laugh! Will Emma and Grayson finally have their happily ever after? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that are set in front of them? Can love really endure all? I guess we will have to see what Cristin has in store for her readers in Only For Us! Pick up your copy of Only for Her today and if you haven’t read Only for Him yet, then pick that one up first!

I love this series! It was a great book. My only issue is that it was only 75 pages! Now I have to wait for the 3rd book!
