Only the Best of Paul Winter

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Leggett
Alto and soprano saxophonist Paul Winter built his career on a fusion of classical, jazz, and traditional ethnic rhythms and he also made a commitment to including the sounds of the natural world in his various recording projects, all of which gives Winter's music an easy, natural feel. This four-disc, 65-track set combines several of his '60s LPs for Columbia: 1962's Jazz Meets the Bossa Nova, 1963's Jazz Premier: Washington, Jazz Meets the Folk Song and New Jazz on Campus, 1964's The Sound of Ipanema, and 1965's Rio, in a single, enjoyable package.
