Overview

Possibly the most important words every spoken in the history of the world are the words that Jesus Christ of Nazareth spoke from his birth to his ascession. His Words were God speaking directly to us, Jesus said, “the word that ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.” No place else is there such large collection of teachings spoken directly from God than in the New Testament. Read what he said, word for word without the distraction of the story, just the pure, clear message from God the Father strictly translated by the Young’s Literal Translation Bible from the Hebrew and Greek in which the original texts were written. Edited and compiled by Jim Edwards to provide the reader the feeling that they are experiencing the spoken Word first hand, in the present tense, for the first time.

“Only” strips away all distractions of he said, she said, descriptions and plots. For possibly the first time read God’s Words as if they are spoken directly to you. “Only” is just what it says, it is ONLY the Words of Jesus and nothing else; all of them, from birth to ascension. “Only” will give you a new perspective and understanding of Jesus’s teachings, whether you are reading them for the first time or for the one-hundredth time.

Meet the Author

I, J. Edward, grew up in Houston, Texas USA and attended the University of Houston for a Liberal Arts degree. I have always had a drive to obtain knowledge about God and the spiritual aspects of life. I attended a Christian School for the first seven years of my education and was raised Christian and still am a Christian. I have studied many other religions and spiritual practices and met many wonderful people during these studies; including the Gurus of Hinduism, the Llamas of Buddhism, Sufis of Islam, Indigenous tribal spiritual leaders and more. These studies actually gave me insight into my own Christian religion and spiritual beliefs and increased how powerful I felt the Word of God was.

Having read the New Testament several times I grew to focus on the spoken words of Jesus Christ more and more. I found that by stripping away the context and grammatical descriptions found in the New Testament and leaving just the spoken Words of God through Jesus that I had a more powerful experience and insight into the Word.

I have used “Only” to help my researches into the New Testament. I have used it to read the spoken Word out loud in order to hear the Word of God to increase my faith. I have read it out loud to bless situations in my life. I have read it out loud to comfort myself and to dispel negative energy and to heal. I have randomly opened it seeking guidance and have found the guidance I sought. I have used it to give me deeper insight into the meanings of the spoken Words of Christ. I pray that “Only” severs the reader as it has me and more.

I found this book fascinating. There is so much added in the Bible that I have always felt that I couldn't hear the words the Jesus spoke. Two thing pop out when you hear his words and those are both the unexpected and the frequently quoted words that we hear from preachers and teachers. Jim's work strips all the wrapping off the words. You get the full blown message and perhaps some of the message you wish were not there. Christians have gone to war over the interpretation of Jesus;s words. Now the words are there to see and to understand. Christ is not " new age" or politically correct. He didn't support the Republican party or Gay rights nor refute them. He offered a spiritual path for all people to follow. A way of life to guide our inner life as we live our outer life. His words help us all to make fair, kind, and trusting responses to the challenges man has faced in his daily life. The Prince of Peace has been used as an excuse for hatred and intolerance too often. Now, reading these words is like tasting cool fresh water from a mountain stream. Thanks to Jim Edwards for taking the time to pull these words out of the Bibles. I'm am called to a remembrance of Glory. A true Ah ha moment.. RRaintree
