Overview

Political activist and author Ralph Nader answers the question, "What if?" What if a cadre of superrich individuals tried to become a driving force in America to organize and institutionalize the interests of the citizens of this troubled nation? What if some of America's most powerful individuals decided it was time to fix our government and return the power to the people? What if they focused their power on unionizing Wal-Mart? What if a national political party were formed with the sole purpose of advancing clean elections? Political activist and author Ralph Nader answers the question, "What if?" What if a cadre of superrich individuals tried to become a driving force in America to organize and institutionalize the interests of the citizens of this troubled nation? What if some of America's most powerful individuals decided it was time to fix our government and return the power to the people? What if they focused their power on unionizing Wal-Mart? What if a national political party were formed with the sole purpose of advancing clean elections? What if these seventeen superrich individuals decided to galvanize a movement for alternative forms of energy that will effectively clean up the environment? What if together they took on corporate goliaths and Congress to provide the necessities of life and advance the solutions so long left on the shelf by an avaricious oligarchy? Meet the Author

Ralph Nader
Ralph Nader

Ralph Nader was recently named by the Atlantic as one of the 100 most influential figures in American history, one of only four living people to be so honored. The son of immigrants from Lebanon, he has launched two major presidential campaigns and founded or organized more than one hundred civic organizations. His groups have made an impact on tax reform, atomic power regulation, the tobacco industry, clean air and water, food safety, access to health care, civil rights, congressional ethics, and much more.

Table of Contents

Ralph Nader begins Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us! with an author's note that attempts to clarify any genre confusion the reader might have. "This book is not a novel," he announces. "Nor is it nonfiction. In the literary world, it might be described as a 'practical utopia.' " It's a smart clarification to offer because, by the aesthetic criteria of either of those two more common forms, it is a colossal, Hindenburgian disaster.

As a novel it is a dismal affair: gracelessly written, ploddingly plotted, and long. Oh God so long. And as a political tract it advances a conception of politics both grossly condescending and depressingly elitist. Democracy, Nader seems to say, could be ours: if only the oligarchs would get behind it.

    I Also Recommend:

It seems like the title may be some misdirection-deceptive hook, but it is one of the most cleverly plotted modern call to arms i've read-ever.

    Very interesting and hefty-sized page-turner.

Ralph Nader has hit an Aesopian Fable - if it only could become true!!

"Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!" is a MUST READ. It is very easy reading. Ralph Nader has written with every-day words nearly all can read and easily understand.

The entire concept of the US Constitution confirmed that control of a government required the source of standards of personal, social, and business behavior must come from all the citizens of the United States of America. The KEY feature was to maintain control of the Government of the new United States in the hands of all individuals that comprise the population of the United States, not the gentry few wealthy and land-owners. Ralph Nader has described precisely what was intended in 1776. The ranking of considerations at all levels in Nader's story parallels the Original Constitution of the United States.

What Nader is telling the reader in a very imaginative way is re-establishing the control of our government to the lower income, more common citizen. This way they can buy the goods and services they want and need. In turn gives the producing workers employment - which, in turn, gives management operating positions - which, in turn, makes for profitable businesses to sell stock and bonds to the upper income citizens. It is essential, the lower and lowest wealth individuals must be gainfully employed. Nader calls on 17 of the wealthy personae, using their names in his creation of imaginative "what could happen" story of "Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!"

Carefully note our present government is controlling us, all of us at the lower-wealth bottom. Because we have, over the past little over 100 years, allowed - No! We have voted Congressional Members who passed laws to allow -- the government to give us - as if we need not ever have to pay for it - services and government control.

"Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!" is written for anyone to enjoy and be tickled by what could happen here - and the world - if we all put our true needs on the negotiating table.

    the rich can help us

"only the super rich can save us" is a very intresting novel writtion by ralph nader . he takes a serious look at a many problems in the world and how alot of the many industrilists and people who have the most money dont use it to the betterment of society . this book takes a look at what would happen if some of these people who control the money in the world would try to make a difference with some of the problems in our communitys instead of spending there money on things that dont matter what would happen if these people used there money to show the betterment or for the worse. this bestseller shows how we all can look in our own back yards and solve some of our own differences perhaps mr nader will be making another run. this book would make a wonderful gift for someone special.
