I haven't read it yet but it is a novella, a short story. 51 pages. Just so you know what you are buying.

If you like Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movies, you'll love this book! ONLY US is a charming, lighthearted and romantic novella from Fool's Gold. If you haven't read a Fool's Gold book yet, start with this one! It's a great way to dip your toes into the series.
Pet groomer Rina has been in love with her boss, handsome veterinarian Cameron, for a year, ever since he and his young daughter moved to town. She's afraid that by confessing her feelings to him, she will not only lose his friendship, but she'll lose her friendship with his daughter, too. Rina loves them both, and revealing her heart is the riskiest thing she'll ever do. The ending had me laughing out loud and crying, too... the best kind of Christmas romance!

The book is short and to the point which is refreshing when we need to hear the simple "love story". To the point and let each of us know that love comes in many forms and it should not be taken lightly. Good Read

Definitely not the best of the Fool's Gold series. I realize it is just a novella, so I expected it to be short, but it took me no time at all to finish. I have loved other Susan Mallery books more, but this was good for a short, quick read.

I love the Fools Gold series. I find that even with the longer books, I'm wishing there was more! But this is a short book. Very enjoyable. The charachters are real, likeable and funny. If you are a fan of Susan Mallery and the Fools Gold series, this is a must read.

nly Us: A Fool's Gold Holiday by Susan Mallory
4 Stars
Only Us is a novella story that is set in the town of Fool's Gold. It is a short easy read that is heart warming.
Carina Fiore is a pet groomer who for the last year has been in love with her boss but he has no idea. Carina has also become involved with his daughter Kaitlyn and takes care of her. Carina comes early and gets Kaitlyn dressed and ready for school. After school she is dropped off and stays a couple of hours with Carina at work then Carina takes her home and fixes dinner for the three of them and goes home.
Cameron McKenzie is the new local Veterinarian and has a 8 year old daughter Kaitlyn. His ex-wife walked out on them when Kaitlyn was a few days old.
He is attracted to Carina but doesn't want to act on it, because he is afraid to lose what he now has. Does not want Kaitlyn to suffer when it doesn't work out.
I got Only Us free from Amazon a while back. Love free books to try different authors.

For the most part, I enjoyed this story. It was what I needed at that moment. Short, quick, cute and sweet. It was predictable, but I didn't care, as it just made it lighter/fluffier. My only issues were with the characters. Mainly Rina. That woman puts the drama in drama-queen!
Her actions whenever she was with the hero just had me scratching my head and thinking "huh?" I'm not entirely sure if that's the result of my not reading all of the other books in this super-long series or not though. Maybe there's more to these two characters story in one of the other ones. But yeah, either way I didn't like Rina at all. I also didn't like the immature kid. Cameron's daughter is 8 years old, but comes off as 3 or 4. I wish authors would just leave the kids out if they can't portray them properly. Or if the child is handicap then say so, then I won't think what a joke the whole thing is.
Overall, it was a solid short story. It was super cute, super sweet and squeaky clean. I probably would have enjoyed it more had I read the previous three books in the series, but I thought it could hold it's own as a stand-alone. I'm happy I read it though, it was able to pull me out of my reading funk thoroughly and I couldn't ask for more than that.
