Meet the Author

Kenneth E. Bailey spent forty years (1955-1995) living and teaching in seminaries and institutes in Egypt, Lebanon, Jerusalem, and Cyprus. For twenty of those years, he was Professor of New Testament and Head of the Biblical Division at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, where he also founded and directed the Institute for Middle Eastern New Testament Studies. In addition to more than fifty articles in English and in Arabic, his writings include The Cross and the Prodiga, Poet and Peasant, and Finding the Lost: Cultural Keys to Luke 15.
