Open Letterby Case
Picking up where his sentimental ballad "Happily Ever After" (from 1999's Personal Conversation) left off, Case continues to woo the ladies with his knight-in-shining-Fubu persona. Listening to the wistful "Missing You," the first single from the lover man's third disc, Open Letter, it's hard to believe this reflective singer-songwriter once crooned the suggestive, jeep-ready classic "Touch Me Tease Me," featuring rap vixen Foxy Brown (from his 1996, self-titled debut). Case, however, has not completely forsaken his naughty boy ways. "Crooked Letter" is a funked-out rush of innuendo, while "Sex Games" is a slow-rising booty-call reminiscent of H-Town's 1993 hit "Knockin' Da Boots." But as the soulful tenor gets syrupy sweet on songs such as "A Song for Skye," a dedication to his daughter, and pays homage to his idol Stevie Wonder on the foot-stomping, blues-tinged "Shine," it's obvious that Case is fonder of more sophisticated-sounding R&B. On the confessional Open Letter, Case graduates to the head of his neo-soul class. Neo Brentacious

I ENJOYED OPEN LETTER VERY MUCH. IT IS SO REFRESHINGLY GOOD.
''Touch Me, Tease Me'', ''Faded Pictures'' and ''Happily Ever After'' are a few of Case's R&B hits. His latest album, OPEN LETTER,introduces his next step in taking over the soul charts with a new soulful ballad 'Missing You'. In fact soul ballads fill the album's thirteen tracks. Highlights include ''Shine'', ''No Regrets'' and the current single ''Not Your Friend''. Case also throws in hip-hop elements into tracks such as ''Crooked Letter''. What makes this album so special is that each track invites the listener to discover the different emotions that fill the mind of Case. Its almost as if he had a different experience and person in his mind when he was writing this album. Each track is a paragraph in a letter that must be read!!
this cd is his best yet every song has sonething you can refelt on it a cd were you can sit down with your gurl and listen to it all night
His debut cd was good, then Personal Conversation displayed his maturity as an artist with "Happily Ever After" and "Faded Pictures". Now Open Letter gives us Case's best work to date. With hearfelt ballads "Missing You" "No Regrets" and his "Song for Skye". Since his arrival in 1996, Case has wooed listeners with his pure lyrics and lush vocals. Recommended for the lover in anyone on any occasion.
