Open Multithreaded Transactions: A Transaction Model for Concurrent Object-Oriented Programming
Kienzle ( McGill University) develops a new open multithreaded transactions model that supports the cooperative and competitive concurrency found in modern programming languages, and provides features for controlling and structuring not only access to objects, but also threads taking part in transactions. He also presents an object-oriented framework called the open transaction integration for multithreaded applications (Optima) based on design patterns. The second half of the book explores the implementation of Ada 95 in the Optima framework, the interface between the Ada programmer and the transaction framework, and the design of a online auction system.
