Overview

This anthology of poetry, essays, and fiction contains the winning and honorable mention submissions from the Ghost Road Press Creative Writing contest held in 2005; it also has solicited contributions by writers regional to Colorado.

Open Windows: 2005 is a mix of wry, touching, and honest pieces that make us think about the notion of change, whether it occurs in a marriage or parental relationship, the physical landscape and our relation to it, or in the fabric of society itself.

But no matter what the setting or theme of the individual pieces, the collection as a whole is held together by the liminality of life experience, be it the classic coming-of-age tale, man's self-imprisonment, or the loss of the romantic notion.
