I went to opening day this season to see the first game in the Reds new stadium. This is a coffeetable book that has a ton of photos of the opening day parade, the pre-game ceremonies, the actual game and a lot of photos of the city. There's an introduction that talks about how the ballpark was funded and some of the key people responsible. There's also captions throughout the book that talk about some of the features in the ballpark. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. As a longtime Reds fan, I was very excited to hear about this book. It was being advertised during Reds radio and TV broadcasts at the end of the year, but the book was just released and I finally got a copy. I attended my 10th consecutive Opening Day in Cincinnati this season. As the jacket flap says, 'the 2003 season magnified the storied tradition of Opening Day into the greatest celebration of Reds baseball that the city has ever seen.' With the new opening of Great American Ballpark, that statement couldn't be truer. Despite the Reds loss that day, I couldn't imagine attending a more exciting game in my life. The pre-game ceremonies were amazing (and included former President George Bush), the atmosphere was electric, and even the players looked as though they knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Everyone was in good spirits, and this book does wonderful job of capturing it all. The book is light on text, but it accompanies the absolutely gorgeous photography quite well. I even found a picture of my family and me in one of the crowd shots (how cool is that?) The book is billed at a must-have coffee table book. Well, it¿s not leaving my coffee table. Go Reds! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I ordered this book, however, I was pleasantly surprised by it. Although I didn't get to go to the first game in the Reds' new stadium, I watched it on TV. The book has a ton of photos from the entire day, with some great shots of the ballpark, the fans and the players. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
