All the books in the LaRue series are entertaining, although the main characters lack of perception is frustrating. You have to keep in mind she is a teenager. Some of the big ah huh moments can be seen far in advance but it doesn't kill the desire to continue the story. I found that many of the other characters in the tale were more attention getters than the main character Arelia LaRue.
The real gem of this book is the second portion that finally gives and explanation for the curse that fuels everybook in the series. This is the portion of the tale that I found more interesting and alluring. It takes you back to a dark and beautiful piece of history in the united states. This portion of the story is still very much saturated by Voodoo/hoodoo. Slavery and the role the free men and women played along with a society still driven by slavery and predudice as excepted and neccesary norms is displayed, along with new characters.
Kira Saito LaRue series is a easy enjoyable read.

Book 4 of the La Rue stories does not let you down if you love voodoo, love, betrayal, and a smashing ending. Arielia becomes one with Cecile, a revolutionist of the 1800s, and is able to unlock the secret of who is behind the Louis / Lucas curse. I cannot wait for book 5j

I found the book a little confusing at the beginning, although I had recently finished the three previous books and enjoyed them.
So that aside this book started to answer a lot of the questions as to how all of the characters were inter connected through history.
I do recommend it as a good read and look forward to the next book in the series.

I am a black rocketship in black space and this book is good. I eat out of a dot. Is candy is a dot? Does anyone really use the food pyramid? "Im gonna have 6-11 servings of grains..." I mean seriously? Is there any way to describe a nightmare? "I was running through a pool of marshmellows in my flip flops and there was only 18 seconds to eject and then the manager came out going 'WAAAHHHHHHHHHHHWAHHHH' and you were there but you didnt look like you...." lmfao im bored... thank you Mufassa...
