On May 25th, after 25 seasons and 4,561 episodes, the lights went down on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The show was spectacularly popular (40 million viewers a week in the U.S. alone), but statistics alone can't register the immense impact of Oprah's show. This lavish mammoth pictorial accomplishes that feat by presenting a virtual backstage pass to this afternoon institution. Produced with the full participation of the famed host of her staff, The Oprah Winfrey Show contains hundreds of behind-the-scenes images and contains essays by more than twenty high-profile contributors about Oprah's legacy in fields including women's issues, personal growth, humanitarianism, equality, culture and style, health and wellness, and literary culture. Like Oprah herself, incomparable.

I received this stunning book as a gift from a co-worker and I couldn't stop marveling at this lovely book. This is the perfect coffee table accessory. The beautiful large gold hardcover is so elegant it's the perfect conversation piece. And the reflection pics with brief stories for some will have you saying... "yeah, I remember that episode". Great job to the author and publishers!
