Overview

For thirty years, Willow Brown has lived in the woods on her deceased parent’s estate, where she follows a reclusive lifestyle caring for the wildlife and avoiding human contact. Then Willow’s quiet world turns upside down when nature photographer Noah Phelps crosses her path and discovers she can fly...
Noah quickly learns there is more to fairies than just flying. Gifted with magical powers far beyond his Wiccan charms, Willow is also a woman with issues and a haunting past. When local bully Chester Jones reignites a long-standing feud, Willow turns to her “mere human” friend for help and finds love as well.
Willow is the most delightful, mysterious, feisty, irritating, yet lovable woman Noah has ever known. At his urging, she seeks the answer to the mystery of her parents’ death and Jones’s sudden interest in her woodland home. Fairy magic, Wiccan spells, and the Jones brand of folk magic crisscross the ether, as a race ensues to find the clues hidden in the woods. After Willow casts her spell, you will believe in fairies. .

    In love with Fairys

Mr Osborne has written a true jem here. I could not put it down. I was truly taken into Willow and Noah's story and was sad to see it end. I'm so looking forward to the second book All American Fairy, which is Rowan's story, due out in September.

Page turner filled with mystery and beauty

It had been a few years since I sat down to read a book and I'm so glad that I chose this one! What a wonderful book filled with romance and mystery. It was so well written, I didn't want to put the book down and likewise didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read the author's next book and I hope it will take us back to the mystery of Willow.

    Must read...couldn't put it down!

Very enchanting. I felt I was right there with Willow through the whole story. The author is very descriptive in his writing and you could truly visualize what he was describing. My husband also read the book and he was so facinated by the description of Willow. We sat and discussed the book and our feelings of what was written...it was a nice thing to do together. We will certainly recommend An Oridnary Fairy to others and cannot wait for more!

The characters are fully fleshed out with their own personalitie

The characters are fully fleshed out with their own personalities that bring you into the world they live in. The romance isn't the sparkly pulp romances; it's adult in the complexity that life lends to living more than a dozen or so years. Let yourself experience a world where the fairies actually have lives of their own.
The portrayal of the beliefs involved bring in aspects of people that could very well be your neighbors. Is this book truly fiction? or an a factual recounting of events? At the end you are left waiting for the line 'Only the names have been changed to protect...'

    I Also Recommend:

    Wonderful contemporary fantasy

I like fantasy that is rooted in reality and An Ordinary Fairy is a good example of that. I find contemporary fantasy more accessible than other types of fantasy, so if you don't normally read fantasy don't let that put you off. Contemporary fantasy puts fantasy elements in a realistic setting you can relate to.

This story takes place in the present day, in rural and small town Illinois and combines fantasy with romance and mystery. The romantic elements were particularly interesting as the story is told from the point of view of the male character rather than the female character.

The characters are well drawn and Osborne does an excellent job of gradually revealing them through their actions (and in the case of the POV character, thoughts as well). The two main characters are people you would want to know (or be!). I would love to be able to visit Willow in that quiet setting with the animals, woods, pond, and her endless supply of chocolate. :)

I would love to see this book turn into a series so I can get to know these characters even better and immerse myself further into the world of faires.

This is a fantastic story of how fairy tale and everyday life come together. It is full of fantasy, mystery and lots of new love. I would love to know more about the future of these characters. Would definitely read more!! :)

    It could have been better

I dont like giving low reviews but I had a little difficulty making myself finish this book. It just wasn't as interesting as it could have been. The romance was somewhat mundane and lacking. The story hints at a big secret the fairy has but never reveals it and the ending was just blah. I love paranormal romance but not this one so much.
