I have never heard Galway play like this. I love that he took the Bolling pieces and added the Latin beat to some of the tunes, offering a different perspective than Jean Pierre Rampal. This is very inspiring for a flutist to personalize the Bolling pieces, by even adding a little improv here and there for creativity. The other tunes are equally fun to listen to and play along with. I love the eclectic mix of Cuban, French, and Irish, and the way classical flutist can perform jazzy tunes. Its a rare find. This was indeed a good purchase.

Beautiful, Baroque-inspired themes blend to perfection with hot, Latin jazz rhythms on O'Reilly Street, The world's most famous flutist, James Galway, joins Emmy-nominated, Cuban group Tiempo Libre in an uplifting, fast-paced take on favorites from the Claude Bolling suites. Also features some very appealing, original works by Tiempo Libre's Jorge Gomez. So much talent on a single CD...sounds great! Highly recommended for fans of classical, as well as jazz and Cuban music.
