    Deserved Grammy Winner

I am no authority on artistic merit, but I found this performance to have a precise, articulate & dynamic quality to it which made it exciting to listen to. The recording & mastering were both done competently, resulting in good instrumental clarity with no lower mid-range muddiness, exagerated bass dynamics or high frequency roll-off which can often plague classical recordings. The balance of individual instruments within the orchestra, & the balance between the orchestra & soloists were both good. The soloists were well miked, but I would have preferred slightly closer miking for the choir in order to improve the transparency of its sound by allowing better differentiation of individual voices as opposed to its somewhat opaque presentation. However, this last point is a minor criticism of what I found overall to be an excellent CD.
