    Great story

Loved it. Action-packed, funny and serious, with fantastic characters and a great story that kept me reading. I enjoyed it immensely and I am waiting for the sequel. I recommend it.

    Highly Recommended

I love fantasy blending with reality. This one has it all, a historical context, simple enough not to tire, but as parallel to historical events to make you wonder and of course the fantasy elements, everyone is searching in these kind of novels. I read it non-stop, during the weekend, loving every minute. A good solid choice, considering the prize.

    I enjoyed it

Good, easy to follow story, with a believable character, not a hero but pretty close to one. Although the first in a series, it doesn't throw so many details at once to overwhelm the reader. A very violent story, not for the faint of heart. I liked it and reading the free for the moment Rootless helped me understand it all the more. The ending is an unexpected twist, that many will like, but not me.

    Impressive!!

This is the start of a great series no doubt. No-nonsense action, under an almost genuine Historical background. A thrill ride of love and death with an unexpected conclusion. This is not just another Vampire story as I was expecting at the start. You almost forget the whole surrey of fake rules as the story pulls you in. I read it in a sitting, just couldn't put it down.

    a Rewarding gem

A touching tale, with a real-life common teen, as a protagonist, thrown into a violent, unforgiving world, from the very first page and asked to swim or die. I enjoyed it a lot and I eagerly wait for the sequel to come out. Simple, fast reading and funny.

I couldn't make it through this book. There were too many grammatical errors, and it was just too distracting.
