This is an excellent book and I would highly recommend it to all. It organizes and presents a history of the making of France that is easy to read and very comprehensible. It sheds light on many of the periods within the history and clearly shows how one piece of the puzzle attachs to the whole. It leaves one with the sense of France as a nation and not just a word or idea. It is technical reading at its best with a natural flow to the information from inception to end. A great book. A great read. A great buy.
