A fascinating character study of how an outstanding soldier and true leader comes to grips with the realization that the war he has been thrust into is far less than the 'noble conflict' our leaders have led us to believe. 'El Tee''s devotion to his men first and his country second makes him a true hero in my mind. SALUTE, 'EL Tee',for a job well done. May the deeds of you and your 'brothers' never be forgotten. A MUST READ

It's been a long time since I found a book that I was willing to lose sleep over. The humor and the sadness, mixed with the FEEL of the war, kept me spellbound. I would recommend this for Vietnam veterans as well as anyone who wants to experience the hell of war. Man, woman or mature child should enjoy this book.

Like a time machine, Orphaned Heroes took me back to the sights, smells and fears I knew in Vietnam. 'El Tee' and his men were the soldiers I knew; all of us who struggled to survive. Anyone who wants to know about the time and place 'Vietnam', should read this book.
