If you are interested in German village life and some of the reasons or causes for European immigration, you will find your answers here in this book. Or if you are mainly interested in history itself, you won't be disappointed in your reading. I've recommended this book to several people who have purchased it and also my local library requested it. It's an amazing book and gives you an excellent feel for the social customs and the political structure that our ancestors had to deal with. I think the book can also speak for other ethnicities cuz I don't think German life differed much from life in France or Poland or Switzerland.
