In late 2007 the hardcover edition became one of the hottest books of the holiday season, entertaining and offending hundreds of thousands of readers around the globe. This new, easy-to-carry paperback edition is perfect for the intrepid traveler to any of the world's exotic locales—from Afghanistan, "Allah's Cat Box," to Ukraine, "the Bridebasket of Europe," to the USA's own Nevada, "Where Everyone's a Loser."

Packed with beautiful full-color maps and framed with inaccurate essays about all the world's peoples and places, OUR DUMB WORLD is a gut-busting send-up in which no nation escapes unscathed.

I read the beginning of this book in Barnes and Noble (The United States Portion) and thought it was very funny, so I bought it. I soon realized that every country was just one joke repeated over and over. Canada is cold, Mexicans immigrate to America, Belize gets hurricanes, Iran has a supposed nuclear program and hates Jews. These all just sound like common American stereotypes dragged on in the forms of timelines and maps.

I thought The Onion would do better, what a disappointment.

Very funny and entertaining way to sort out geographical confusion.  A satire on the Rwandan genocide that Swift would appreciate.

    disappointing

Not nearly as funny as the "newspaper" compilations. Can be repetitive, a chore to read.
