    Even Better Than The Original

It's been about a year since The Brain Vault was released and I've been going through withdrawal waiting for book number four to come out. The last one left us with a big question mark. If, like me, you've been wondering about Chalice's future; wonder no more. Kelter does not disappoint-The new book picks up where the previous story left off. Chalice has evolved over the course of the four books and she continues to do so in the new story. She's still funny and quirky, but she's more human and much more in touch with her emotions (there's a good reason for it of course but I'm not going to spoil the story for you). Our Honored Dead is a serious psychological thriller that will leave you guessing until Kelter drops the bomb on you at the end of the story. Totally satisfying. I can't wait to see what happens to Chalice next.

I love Stephanie Chalice (Cha-lee-say) as she would say... I'm happy to see where she's at now, pregnant with Gus' child and still going strong.
This book was fast paced and kept me going. I couldn't put the book down at all. Good read, especially if you're a fan of the Stephanie Chalice series.

Can't beat this book for price!

I've enjoyed all the Larry Kelter's Stephanie Chalice mysteries and this one is no exception. Kelter has an antic brain and his murderer/monsters are truly original and inventive. The Chalice books are set in New York and he deftly weaves local color and culture into the stories. This book seemed a bit of a reunion, bringing all his characters from prior books in for cameo performances (no spoilers). Stephanie is adjusting to pregnancy (yes, Gus's) and is her wise-cracking self. Handling pregnancy, Gus, family, loss, and job adjustments of motherhood, form a backdrop to a truly chilling series of murders. Some reviewers have complained regarding the sex and language in Kelter's books, but, really, get over it. There is a lot of gleeful sexual banter and jokes, which I attribute to the freedom of the 99 cent ebook...

Terrible - no plot, just words

Why do authors spend 80 per cent of the book on character development? Then a thin plot with no point. I would not waste my time on this.
