I just finished the book, I liked it, it was worth reading. I did think there were more characters mentioned than there needed to be, therefore making the book a little "wordy", extra information/people that I think was of no importance. Maybe it had to be that way, the book was only 292 pages. I have read several true crime, this one was just O.K. The story itself was interesting, making it hard not to finish the book. I do believe that everyone got the correct punishment for the crime commited, including Melanie. At first I thought she might get off, but was suprised with the judge, and agreed with him. She was involved, I think more than she let on. However, I do feel for what she might have went through. Is it their right to take someones life for what may have happened, No. A good book to read.

Without giving any details out to a potential reader, I found this book. difficult to put down. I did have only one issue, which I found to be controversial in one aspect, which if I discuss in this review, will spoil this book for anyone who wishes to read this. I highly recommend this book to those who like to read true crime books like me, as the forensic details are absolutely amazing as to how the criminal was finally discovered. After reading this, I'm sure many will see the controversial issue I noticed.

Overview
The true story of a teenage killer and the silence of a small New England town. For twenty years Daniel Paquette's murder in New Hampshire went unsolved. It remained a secret between two high school friends until Eric Windhurst's arrest in 2005. What was revealed was a crime born of adolescent passion between Eric and Daniel's stepdaughter, Melanie- redefining the meaning of loyalty, justice, and revenge.
