Our Ultimate Refuge: Job and the Problem of Suffering
Why does a good God allow suffering?

It's a question we all face because we all see and experience the pain of life. The biblical book of Job offers insight into how we can address that question when difficult times come our way.

That's what Oswald Chambers (My Utmost for His Highest) explores in Our Ultimate Refuge, an in-depth look at Job that started as a series of messages to soldiers experiencing the horrors of World War I. Free of platitudes and feel-good statements, this book addresses the problem of pain and God's work in the midst of it. Throughout these pages you'll:
  • Learn how suffering allows us to better understand the meaning of redemption.
  • Discover how Job's posture toward his suffering can help you through your own trials.
  • Find lasting hope in the truth that God is our ultimate—and only—refuge.
When, like Job, you're in the depths of despair and have more questions than answers, let the Ultimate Refuge comfort your soul.
