Very good read from the wonderful George Plimpton describing his exploits as a big league picher (sort of). First of all, excellent journalism, exactly the way they teach you in school. Second, as a HUGE baseball fan, I deeply appreciate the time Plimpton put into this book explaining in rigorous detail his emotions and experiences and I love the fascinating anecdotes he shares about so many big league players. Sure, there are some editing mistakes, but they dont interrupt Plimptons narrative at all. If you enjoy baseball and baseball history, or are even just looking for a well written first hand account of a man living one of his boyhood dreams, I highly recommend this book.
