OUT OF THE VALE

Another gripping adventure about God, time, and the life of the soul

Fans of John Hamm's Cold War thriller, In the Vale, may now share this exciting sequel with first-time visitors to his fascinating vision of a portal to heaven called the Vale.

Abruptly returned from his introduction to the afterlife, a covert operator named Paul searches desperately for God's purpose in bringing him back to earth from heaven's doorstep. Quitting his shadowy government job, he plunges ever deeper into quandaries of mystery and suspicion. His apartment is searched, he is being followed, and the organization he served now treats him like a criminal. Trapped in this enigmatic puzzle, he discovers both mortal and spiritual powers blocking his efforts to find God's will. Human and demonic forces combine to draw him back to his previous work, but that is only the beginning.

Tapping into Paul's life where the first book ended, this one spins an entirely new story rooted in questions from the past. Paul faces evil only hinted at before, while navigating avenues of intrigue, action, and romance on two continents. Familiar characters return and new ones abound. Like the first Vale novel, this one is filled with suspense, excitement, humor, and penetrating questions about God, time, and survival of the soul. Out of the Vale continues an exciting and intelligent exploration into the ways of God and humanity in this world and the next.

Author John Hamm is retired from careers in the Air Force and the federal government. Out of the Vale, like his last book, propels readers through breathtaking adventures and exotic places in this world and the next. Most of the scenes on earth are set in locales where the Air Force took him or places very much like them. He and his wife Linda currently live on the beach in Florida. A beloved, black Labrador retriever named Jordie has passed on, leaving them solely under the care and control of a crotchety old orange-and-white tomcat named Mac.
