Desperate to keep him...

I've finally gotten everything I ever wanted: love, freedom, happiness, and, most importantly, Finn. Our love is everything I expected it to be and more. We've finally found each other, but the world seems determined to tear us apart. We thought my father was the only obstacle between us, but now it's the military. With Finn's departure looming, we're squeezing in every moment together before we run out of time.

Trying to make every moment count...

Being Carrie's bodyguard was one thing. Being her boyfriend is another. Every day she's mine is a day the sun shines in my life. Yet our time together is running out. Her father will never think a tattooed Marine will be good enough, so I'll do whatever it takes to be worthy of her love. But the road will take me away from the girl who makes me feel alive--the girl I can't live without.

Time only gets us so far...

    Out of Line Series

I am loving this series but hate being left hanging. I guess I'm just impatient. However, I love this story enough to wait it out. If I knew it would be like that, I would wait until the series is finished before purchasing.

Oh. My. Freaking. Hell. If my heart didn't explode a million times over reading this book!

If it wasn't breaking into pieces, then it was bursting with elation!

I really loved Carrie and Finn's story in Out of Line, so I was super excited for it to continue with this series. They really are such a sweet, amazing couple and I was hoping things would get a little easier for them, but of course, life is messy, love is challenging and no matter how strong the bond two people share, there are always those outside influences that cause havoc.

It seemed like there was so much against them, from Carrie's father to Finn's unknown future and deployment as a Marine, but I'm glad they stood together and faced things as a couple. Yes, the stress of their lives showed its ugly face from time to time and their insecurities made them say things they normally wouldn't, but they came out in the end still very much in love. Finn is to die for. Seriously! And that little Christmas setup he put together just melted my heart. I just have one question to ask - Where can I get my very own Finn???

I knew something bad was going to happen. It was inevitable. It was just a question of what and when; and when the time came I was a bundle of mixed emotions. I was so happy that Carrie finally stood up to her father, but at the same time I was devastated and so worried about Finn. I am awed at how deeply I feel for these characters. I truly LOVE them and to have anything happen to either of them would have left me feeling broken.

This book was exciting, romantic and sexy. I loved every second of it!

Love the story of Finn and Carrie. This second book picks up right where the first one stopped. You feel thier happiness and share their pain. I will not put any spoilers in here because I dislike them. So I will say get this book I read it all in on sitting. It is that good. Great Job and hold on for the hot love making . Loved it from beginning to the End. Enjoy I know I did. Love me some Finn!!!!

I fell in love with Carrie and Finn in Out of Line. Their passio

I fell in love with Carrie and Finn in Out of Line. Their passion for each other – and their relationship in general – made me feel all the feels. I was beyond excited to be selected to participate in the tour for the second book in their series, despite the fact the title Out of Time made me more than a little antsy about what the future held for one of my favorite couples.

After the "will they? won't they?" of Out of Line, it was great to see Carrie and Finn in a relationship in Out of Time. I absolutely adored them together. They had attraction, heat, passion and love for each other. Their chemistry leapt off the pages (electronic or otherwise). The forbidden nature of their relationship made it all the more appealing. We had a taste of all this in Out of Line and we got a lot more in Out of Time. The only problem was, this time, it was like a giant timer had been set on their relationship. Finn was heading off to war and he and Carrie were determined to make the most of all the time they had left. They definitely did.

I'm not going to dig into the plot or run the risk of giving anything away. The ups and downs must be experienced first-hand. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I blushed. At just a little over 200 pages, Out of Time is a short book, but it packed quite an emotional punch (to the gut, at times). But it was sweet and steamy, angsty and emotional – everything I want in a new adult contemporary romance. The book, while not what I would call a cliffhanger, per se, certainly left me wanting more.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

McLaughlin leaves you on the edge of your seat with Out of Time!

McLaughlin leaves you on the edge of your seat with Out of Time! The second book in the Out of Line series was just as outstanding as the first! It picks up right where book 1 left off where you have found out that Finn has gotten a call from his superiors (Marines) and that he needs to figure out what is going on. The book follows the story of Carrie and Finn again as they await the news from Finn's superiors and what unfolds as the result of that news. I found the story engrossing, suspenseful, hilarious at times, and passionate. I was totally swept up in the story and I grew attached and invested in the characters. I couldn't put this book down...it was that good! Jen McLaughlin does a fantastic job of weaving the new adult content with a thoroughly engrossing storyline that keeps you reading and up to all hours of the night finishing. When you are done...trust me...you are going to be going right for book 3! 5 stars!
