Meet the Author

I was born and raised in southern California where I grew up learning to surf (usually under the board), scuba dive (at Catalina Island), water-ski (in lakes, rivers and even the ocean), snow-ski (in local mountains and out of state locales), and ride horses (I had two, Sebastian and Chantilly). I was mostly a tom-boy and spent much of my time climbing trees and playing baseball.

My husband and I have moved back and forth across the country, so we've made our homes in Nevada, Georgia, Texas and Florida. Now that my husband is retired, we're back home in Florida near the white surgar-sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Gulf Coast.

I love writing books (mostly romances), blogging, painting (landscapes and still-lifes in oils), photography (digital), travel (when I can afford it), going to the beach, getting together with friends and family, and playing with my three young grandkids (full of energy) and two big dogs (Shani and Dude).

Ms Heyer is an excellent storyteller. She has an easy use of the language and her description of character or scenery is very visual and engaging. The story flows easily and it has its twists and turns like any good romance should. The result is a delightful book that will keep you interested to the end. I look forward to reading some more of her stories. She has a lot of promise.

As a travel journal style novel, this is a great story - as a romance it left me flat. If I had to endure the heroine bemoaning the differences between their two worlds one more time... I found many places of personal interaction rushed or just plain skipped, , , and, then it was morning, or the next day, or after time passed, etc. Thar's fine once or twice but not as a constant companion throughout the book. Insert some other transition style every now and then for kicks and giggles. Still, the characters came across with depth and emotion - I found myself rooting for them even though I knew the story would have a formulaic ending.

OUTBACK LOVE is truly a 5-star adventure! Priscilla's need to escape the daily grind and find a remote spot to recharge was one of the reasons I was drawn to Priscilla and Ian's story. I loved that she charged off on the experience alone, only to find herself in muddy circumstances. Conflict from the get-go. Thankfully, Ian happens along. While the attraction between Priscilla and Ian is immediate, the romance builds slowly. I truly enjoyed the rich details of their journey across the Outback, but the journey to find and admit their love for each other kept me turning the page. Ms. Heyer is an excellent storyteller whose style of writing comes from the heart.

This is a contemporary read about two people who meet in Australia and fall in love. As the author takes the characters throughout the countryside, we get an informative tour of all the interesting places to visit while watching the hero and heroine grow closer and get their happily-ever-after.
