Overview

A compilation of funny, irreverently reverent stories on aligning with the Divine in daily life. For the passionately spiritual and bemusedly skeptical alike.

Adapted from a popular column originally published as San Francisco's Spiritual Examiner at examiner.com.

"What if God IS the story? What if the Divine is constantly igniting roadside flares to get our attention? What if there actually IS a Supreme Organizing Principle with a ribald and unbridled sense of humor? And what if we each have this ardent inner suitor who's writing us love letters every day that often go unopened?"

What if indeed?

Read on.

Author Bio:

Tosha Silver grew up thinking one day she would be a rabbi, a lawyer or a weathergirl. But fate had other ideas. She graduated from Yale with a degree in English Literature but along the way fell madly in love with metaphysics and yogic philosophy.

For the last 30 years she has taught many ways to align with the inner Divine. She lives near San Francisco and also writes a spiritual column at examiner.com.

Tosha's talent and honesty make Outrageous Openness such a fun, thought provoking and interesting read. Whether you're tired of the "sanitized white light sameness" of so-called self-help books or introductions to our different dimensions, or perhaps skeptical of the same.the accessible story format of OO allows anyone to enter Tosha's perception of "Divine Source" or "the knowledge that prosperity and good comes from god not any individual person or job." Don't let the word god fool or detract you. Her perspective is "independent of all formal religion" and there's nothing here being shoved down your throat. Rather with her smooth storytelling skill (honed by her columns in the SF Examiner), Tosha's shared tales of her and other's life experiences and epiphanies inspire the reader to see the patterns in their own lives and trust that "once you know how to tap this source you trust that what is meant for you will come in an organic way" Thank the universe for our reading enjoyment that "any story of a miracle or strange synchronicity held (Tosha) captive". You'll connect with some examples more than others, depending on your unique personality and taste. In any case, if you let the words work their magic, you may be able to glimpse the "undiluted truth of (your) own soul", finding "creative inspiration" in her affirmations, ritual suggestions and meditations on the "Divine flow". It seems to me, Tosha confidently encourages us to trust that the world is not out to get us. Pay attention to whats happening around you, and blossoms of new info and mysterious happenings will poke you on the shoulder. For if we could all just "own (our) true energy, the earth itself will breath a long deep sigh of relief", a poetic way of saying: all is right with the world. Ultimately, none of this may be your cup of tea."But", as Tosha teases and supports, "why not try?"

It had me laughing out loud, moved to tears, and back to smiling again. The stories are cleaver, concise and most of all relatable. I will be reading it again and again as well as recommending it to friends and clients. Thank you Tosha for writing it! Thank you for allowing it to unfold and become part of our planet. I just received Tosha's book as well as Christianne Northrup's newest book, Goddesses Never Age. Just finished Tosha's . It is amazing how things fall into place! (My finding the book!) I love how Tosha mentions the Divine. It is how I operate. Thank you for a book I will refer to often! Love the true stories! Thank you! :0)

Amazing book!! I bought the nook version and read it twice.  I want a paper version so I can refer to it as often as I wish without having to use my computer.  Tosha Silver is a genius storyteller and guide of lost souls.

There are some books that should be required reading for every teenager, woman and 'mature' woman and this is one of them. Tosha's reminders of our uniqueness and importance are pure of heart and honestly presented. Bonus - it's now in hardcover! A perfect gift for any occasion or for no occasion at all.
