I am always on the look out for ways to make simple, yet satisfying meals for my family. Being able to put them together quickly is a high priority for me, plus, I have so many things I would rather do than spend all my time in the kitchen. So, I was delighted to find Oven Only Meals which is based in an interesting concept, as all of the recipes require no browning meat, sauteeing vegetables or boiling noodles to prep the meal. All you do is layer the ingredients in a pan, cover it and bake. Oven Only Meals has chapters of ideas for Beef, Pork, Poultry, Seafood, Eggs and even meatless meals. In the back of the book, the recipes are arranged by how long they take to cook, anywhere from less than an hour to refrigerating it overnight and baking the next day. When I made the Super Simple Baked Ziki from Oven Only Meals, I was a little concerned about not boiling the ziti first, but it turned out perfectly cooked! And it was so much easier. I also tried the Cabbage-Rice Casserole dish, as I love stuffed cabbage, but seldom make them because of the work involved. I just had to layer cut up cabbage, crumbled and uncooked ground beef, uncooked rice, canned soup and some other ingredients and seasonings in the pan. Then I covered it with foil, and baked. What a relief to be able to make a satisfying dinner so easily! Plus, everyone in the family loved it! I will definitely be trying more (all!) of these recipes. The recipes in Oven Only Meals are my kind of meals: quick, easy, wholesome and delicious!
