This is a book I used to read to groups of preschoolers when I was a children's librarian in New York City. They loved the large colorful drawings of animals and the rhymes that describe their actions. It was an effortless way of teaching numbers, but would be equally good as a quiet, cozy bedtime book. A very appealing book.
I first found 'Over In The Meadow' in the library, and my children absolutely loved it. 'Over in the meadow in the sand in the sun, lived an old mother turtle and her little turtle one.' This book teaches children to count, and the melody which is written in the back of the book goes along beautifully with the words and the pictures. You and your children will enjoy this book.
