Over What Hill?: Notes from the Pastureby Effie Leland Wilder
General Fiction Large Print Edition (Effie Leland Wilder) has the writer s eye and the storyteller s gift. Her tales are wry, funny, melancholy, philosophical. Her reflections strike a common chord. James Kirkpatrick, syndicated columnist Hattie McNair and her friends from FairAcres Home are back! Now Hattie s busier than ever. Her writing career has taken an exciting turn as she continues to record FairAcres Follies. This time, romance is in the air and as different generations draw together, they inadvertantly provide Hattie with fuel for her musings that are as humorous and poignant as always. Eighty-six-year-old Effie Wilder approaches her second novel with the same good humor and strong faith found in her first book.

This is a must read. It definitely gives insight to another world and their generation of dealing with what they have or have not. They keep it lively amongst each other and I would be very surprised if they didn't do this "getting along tactic" while growing to their age. The author would be a person I"d like to say, "I know her". Thru her words you can hear her heart speak.
Very nicely written. You feel like you are right there with them, laughing and crying.. good read.
