Okay, but seek help in addition to reading

This was my first step toward recovery. I mistakenly thought it could "fix" me. It did not. I then began therapy for my eating disorder with a therapist who specialized in eating disorders along with a dietician who also did. I recommend to everyone to do the same.

    Don't let eating destroy you!

This book has helped me to understand my disorder, and to be more patient with my setbacks. I'm still struggling with my problem, but this book has really helped to shed light on the steps I must take to get my life back in order. A definite must-read for anyone who binges and wants to stop once and for all!

    Standing Ovation

Broken down in two parts, this book provides indepth statistical information on various eating disorders, including signs of abuse. A must read prelude to understanding the wealth of invaluable assistance provided in part two. The second focuses on how to personally gain control of this compulsive and vicious addiction. Outstandingly captivating and well-written.

    I AM NOT ALONE

One of the best things about this book is...it made me realize that I was not alone in my binge-eating/bulimia. It includes many excerpts from former patients of Dr. Fairburn's study. It made me cry and also gave me SO much hope. I used it as a method of cognitive behavior therapy, I wanted to change & this book certainly helped. It gives you steps, (NOTHING LIKE A 12 STEP) to help yourself and to realize the damage-emotionally and physically-that I was putting on myself. If you or someone you love has food issues-bulimia, anorexia, binge-eating, chronic exercise bulimia, please read/buy this book. It helped me tremendously.
