Overview

In the year 2000 the life of A.R. Dent changed. From rooster to feather duster and life became hell. The path to recovery became the battle ground. The lessons learnt of life and recovery from trauma are told here with a little humour. Poetry instead of a list of instructions. Post Traumatic Stress is treatable without drugs but it needs a different attitude to life if you are to be a survivor.
There is no magic formula in the recovery from trauma. Many psychologists disagreed but their attempts only confused the issues. Yes, there was one Psychologist who still suffered from Post Traumatic Stress and only he came close to knowing what was in my mind. Most psychologists have never experienced losing everything and sit in the gutter on Skid Row. I found out the work I did in the years before the trauma, as a Natural Therapist and the Left/Right Brain work I did, before I hit the wall became invaluable in my private recovery plan.
Because each person is their own fingerprints, my plan is not necessarily your plan but there is one major important factor you need to consider; it is up to the individual to take responsibility for their own healing. This concept and other concepts are written in a code, in cryptic language in poetry and short story form in this eBook so that as you experience the difference the changes become yours. It is similar to writing from Myth. The Hero (which is you) has to overcome the inner demon to overcome the world (which was the trauma). Find a catalyst within this book to overcome trauma and be a survivor.

Meet the Author

A.R. Dent was born in 1945 in Sydney and lived at a beach side suburb. After a turbulent/quiet contrasting early life A.R. Dent then spent time travelling before settling down for a business and professional life. 'Been there - done that' about sums up his life. A Professional Artist and now also including his love of writing and poetry into his life. In writing To Kill a Bunyip I had a plan. Write the book more stupid than Ocker Oscar (that was a challenge). I now have another plan; write each book more stupid than the last book. The single goal of A R Dent is to create original stories that entertain. I am not writing books. I am not an author. I am now a storyteller. I have a present 'work-in-progress' to follow after To Kill a Bunyip and experimenting with other stories to find my true 'author's voice' which is there but I need to fine tune it specifically for storytelling. Short stories and Novellas are my aim to entertain through the written word. All books/stories are related to me...... Ocker Oscar and To Kill a Bunyip were written from my experiences in my life. All stories will have a theme or plot that is connected somehow to my life. My intent is to write, using satire, in a way that people see history as a continuum that changes but remains constant. Fiction, facts, and lies. My next book is titled - The Justice of Null. Details of the progress are posted on A R Dent Facebook page. Update .... on 26th July 2015... I have had a Facebook page of A R Dent invisible without my knowledge. Today corrections were made to make my page *visible*. Facebook, unless you have a Masters degree in Facebook, can be tricky; there are little buttons that have to be clicked on to make your page published. I decided to wear a dunce's hat for a day after this correction was made. The Facebook page has lots of information of my mind as I write. A continuum of the inner-sanctum called the mind of an author; frustrations and joys as the first draft unfolds. UPDATE....... on 10th May 2015 (Australia time)........ """""""In the writing of Ocker Oscar I aimed for a Pygmalion effect as Oscar improved through pressure put on him. The concept remains throughout the story but I had to remove writing errors I deliberately inserted to create the change. A new version has been uploaded and now available. The new version is easier for grammarians to read. Many people saw the writing improvement but, alas, grammarians had a field day.""""""""
