Saving Stories is a community-wide initiative dedicated to capturing folktales, poems, songs, and personal stories from our refugee and English Language Learner populations residing in Baldwin and Whitehall in allegheny County, Pennsylvania and preserving them in the form of bilingual picture books. The Saving Stories collection is housed in the area's school and public libraries. These books promote first language literacy, English literacy, family literacy and cultural awareness. They also preserve and archive personal stories from our community members.
