Meet the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake.

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

I'm glad that KA tendency to describe rooms, kitchen and clothes in detail were severly edited in this book. But i miss the relationship details that so deepen the emotional level like her previous self published ones. I think that what makes her uniquely KA. Pub company better be careful of editing too much of het story. As her reader i really want those details.

Loved Shy and Tabby, as I knew I would. This book wasn't as exciting as Motorcycle Man, but it was still a great love story. In fact, this was probably one of the most tame books, romantically and adventure-wise for Ashley. I love that we continue to hear about all our favorite characters in each new book, though. And I love each and every bad ass and rock chick and biker babe from all of Ashley's books.

Her heroines might drive me nuts sometimes, but her alpha males NEVER let me down! Can't wait for the rest of this series! And when do we get Elviras story!?!

I loved this story. BUT, lets be real! Any book that brings me back to the Chaos Compound and Tack Allen is going to be a favorite for me. A few more scenes with Tack and Red would have been awesome. I thought that Shy was the perfect biker bad ass for Tabitha. Can't wait for more in this series as well as the finale for the Rock Chicks :)

I have been excitedly waiting for this book to release. I love KA's writing style. She keeps the words and emotions real. I never get bored with her characters and stories. Yeah, some reviewers have shared that this book was perhaps not as exciting as her others, but for me having read all of her previous books based on the characters in Denver it was great having them appear in this story (Elvira, Hawk, Lee, Mitch, Brock, Indy & Tex) even if it was just for a brief scene. I LOVED Shy and found it to be totally realistic & believable that after he witnessed the genuine love between Tabby & Jason where Shy spied Tabby looking beautiful standing on the sidewalk and as her boyfriend, Jason approached her, her facial epression filled with love and belonging floored Shy to his core so much so that he knew he would never find that deep connection and love for himself if he continued his manwhoring ways. It rocked him enough to see Tabby feeling that for another man that he knew he had to get his crap together. In short, this was a wonderful love story centered around a terrific cast of characters. Now I can't wait until Hop and Lanie's story comes out. And, I hope to god KA is planning on writing Rush's story too!

What happened to the KA I loved? He last two books have been a third in length and plot development. I hope this isn't going to become the norm!

Hot, badass, alpha biker with troubled past changes his manwhore ways for the love of a woman with her own past heartache and who also happens to be the boss' daughter. Wish it was a little longer and less editted like KA's prior self published work, but this book is still far better than most other stuff out there by authors charging twice as much. You can read this as a standalone, but you're likely to get hooked and there are cameo appearances by favs from other series. I'm going to have to re-read the Rock Chick series after revisiting Fortnum's in this book :)

Not my favorite KA book (like I could pick a fav) but TONS of fun! Missed Cherry n Kane. Great to get deeper in Chaos. Love the way KA writes, and her men make me feel. Watching Tabby grow up, I wished so much for her... dreamed a dream. Great book!

My review: Own the Wind is the first book in Chaos Series. It is a standalone, but features characters you have briefly met in The Dream Man Series. Own the Wind was a page turner and even though it's 448 pages long, it was easy to read and it was so grabbing so the length of the book did not bother me at all. I read it during a day, because I couldn't and didn't want to put it down. It was well-written and again, as it seems to be a tradition for Kristen Ashley's books, emotional and captivating and the subplots were awesome! I like how the author combined different genres together. Plot: Own the Wind tells the story of Tabbitha (Tabby) Allen and Parker "Shy" Cage. I met both of them in Motorcycle Man and was looking very much forward to Tabby's story. Tabby is Kane "Tack" Allen's daughter, which makes her an absolute no-no for Shy who is the member of the motorcycle club Chaos whose president Tack is. Tabby is protected by all brothers and that of course includes Shy. Shy is a hot gorgeous bad ass biker guy who can get any woman; who can do whatever he wants and this is exactly what he does - he sleeps with them. A lot. The book starts with Tabby getting into trouble and Shy decides to teach her a lesson which hurts Tabby more than he knows. Unfortunately Shy realizes it too late and Tabby disappears from his life for a while. Until very sad circumstances bring them together again. Step by step they build a strong friendship where they can rely on each other and where Shy is always there for her. They grow tight, they spend time with each other. The day Tabby realizes that Shy has got a girlfriend, everything changes. Tabby decides to pack her things and move, because seeing Shy with another woman is too painful for her. She has been in love with Shy for a while. When Tack and the rest of the biker club realizes what is going on between Tabby and Shy, hell breaks lose. What I liked: I liked, that the story was told over a longer period of time. I enjoyed that it was not rushed and that the author took time to build the relationship between Tabby and Shy. I loved the writing style and the dialogue was fabulous! I loved that the author split them apart, Tabby having another boyfriend and Sky having a girlfriend. It made the story deeper and more meaningful. I loved Shy's background story; it was interesting and heartbreaking to know about his family. I jumped with joy when Shy got his mothers earrings back and gave them to Tabby. It was one of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching scenes for me in the book. I adored Shy's brother and was happy that Landon was brought into the story. I was also excited to meet many other characters from the Motorcycle Man. Characters: Tabby was a heroine who was easy to love. Experiencing a lot of hard stuff through her younger years and losing a person who loved her, all that shaped her. She grew and developed a lot as a person and as a character. She stood up for what she believed and fought for Shy when everybody else didn't. I loved her for that. Strong outside and vulnerable inside and Shy was perfect for her, to protect her and to make her feel alive again. I don't know how Kristen Ashley does it, but her male leads are great characters! You can easily get addicted to them. I loved every aspect of Shy: as a man, as a friend, as a brother, as a lover. Masculine, good looking, but what matter much more - a safe heaven for

I tried, made it over halfway, but gave up. I prefer books about alpha women and men. This just wasn't it. The female role in this book took being abused, accepted it and used it to get what she wanted. I just couldn't finish it.

So i was looking for a new mc series being caught up with joanna wylde and madeline sheenans stuff and came about this series. Im surprisrd it got so many great reviews. Characters were ridiculous and unrealistic as was the story line. Moved way to slow and far too sappy for this genre. Sorry but it wasnt even worth the two dollars i paid.

Could be read as a "stand alone". The series revolves around other characters and different but loosley connecting themes - which i appreciate. Dialouge a bit hard to follow, as the grammer was "biker"..... I personally tried book two also, and found i liked that one better. Story line and grammer were easier to follow These are each books centering on a particulair couples struggles to form relationships while overcoming lifes circumstances. Alot of personal drama and sex in each, but well crafted. I will continue on with number three.

At first, I thought it would be awkward reading Tabby's story. Glad I gave it a go and was not disappointed. KA told their story in a different way, yet AGAIN. How she does it, I wonder every book. I also ponder what it would be like to live inside her head for a day LOL.

After finishing my first ever KA book, I decided to take a look at her backlist and see what else I might find interesting. Since I was in a bit of a motorcycle club mood, I looked up the Chaos series. As soon as I realized the first book was about Tack's daughter, Tab, and club manwhore extraordinaire, Shy, I knew I had to read it immediately. I adored Tab in Motorcycle Man and the part at the end where it was obvious she had a crush on Shy intrigued me. I wanted to see how it would work, if it could work, between them. If I'm honest, this wasn't the easiest book for me. I have a tough time with manwhores sometimes. It was a little bumpy in the beginning with Shy. I mean, I already liked his character, I just disapproved of his choices. Ha! I loved Tab and hoped they could work towards something, but I soon realized my gratification would be delayed with this book. Neither of them was really in a place where they were ready to be together. They each had to grow some first. So, as much as I didn't like the thought of EITHER of them with someone else, I set those feelings aside and kept going. And man, am I glad I did. The payoff for my frustration at the beginning was huge. Tab and Shy were wonderful together, once they finally got there. Of course, their pairing isn't without some serious obstacles. His domineering nature, her need to retreat when things were too much and the motorcycle club all posed a threat to this couple. There were definite feels and tears. There were also some seriously steamy times. All in all, this was a beautiful story of redemption and second chances. I loved it hard.

Such a great book!!! It was a quick read for me because I enjoyed all their drama. Shy a nd Taby's intensity was great and I highly recommend. I love that all the boys from Dream Man make appearances as well as Elvira :)

I fell in love with Kristen Ashley through her Rock Chick series and soaked up the rest of her books like sunshine on the beach. You can't go wrong with any of her books.I loved reading Shy and Tabby's story. I fell in love with Shy,  but then I fall in love with all her characters. You will, too!
