Features: The focus is on the psychopathology of various diseases. The first chapter includes detailed information about history and classification systems including DSM and ICD and their shortcomings. More than ten different Axis I disorders are covered in a detailed manner. What sets this book apart from others is the extensive coverage of personality disorders, and discussion of their psychopathology and treatment options. Providing deepest knowledge of information on various personality disorders, the editors are experts in their areas. Tables and Illustrations enhance understanding of the material. Each chapter includes numerous references as research sources.
Assessment: This is an excellent source of information for help in understanding psychiatric disorders. Approaching each diagnosis from various perspectives without taking sides, the editors broaden the view of the audience. The section on personality disorders is deep in detail and is the fascinating part of this book. I highly recommend it.
